Each class is an experience of near perfection with Diego being the sole reason for quality yoga. Diego's focus on each and every student in helping them along their journey is a rare ability that he gladly shares. No class is the same but each class ends in our being happy we were there. Our recent retreat was a showcase in thoughtful execution, from the stunning retreat's location and quality of staff and facilities to the commraderi built through masterful guidance from Diego. In our opinion, the best studio in Georgetown. Robert and Carol.
I looked on yelp when first deciding to sign up for one of Diego's classes. I immediately thought he either a has a lot of friends on yelp or b he really is that good. Thankfully, it was the latter. The studio is incredibly serene and the atmosphere is set up to allow you to relax and focus on the time you have put aside. I am by no means a yogi, but I would definitely say that this was my time to enjoy my practice. This was the first yoga class in a long time that had me smiling, concentrating, and really pushing myself into poses. Diego is hands on and wants to make sure that you are not only pushing yourself, but doing so safely and using the right form. No need to bring a mat as they have a ton you can borrow at the studio. Excited to come back!
Do not go to this studio. The owner is a bully and does not allow modifications, even though the movements he teaches are not yogic. He asked us to start class by throwing our arms around in big circles, doing fast wrist circles and some sort of knee circles. When I moved more slowly and deliberately he came over and scolded me. His cues were confusing and difficult to follow and when I did chattarunga to down dog instead of some down dog to some hybrid cobra he literally stopped class and came over to yell at me. When I said I was experienced at yoga and asked to modify, he lost his mind and kicked me out of class. So bizarre. Avoid at all costs.
Very strange experience at this studio during a weekday lunchtime session. I think the owner/teacher was thrown off that someone outside his regular crowd was there midday? The group seemed to be all regulars. I really wanted to enjoy myself during my lunch break and relax, do my own thing, but he quickly called me out in front of the class for not breathing properly, and then asked if I was ok maybe because I wasn’t doing it exactly the way he wanted me to? I said yes I was ok, but he kept at it, so I asked if he was ok, which he didn’t like. I do yoga for myself - I’m not there to validate the teacher. This was a very uncomfortable experience : Great yoga teachers make sure to tell the class that everyone is at their own pace and to do what they need to do for their own practice. This was the opposite of that.
Excellent instruction, great flow, and a gorgeous studio. This studio has a welcoming vibe and professional teachers. I highly suggest taking a class with Diego.
Beautiful studio - Loved Diego's class and energy - and being a yoga teacher I'm really picky
Friendly, warm and genuine. Thank you.
Jennryn is a great teacher!
