Zinc is my second apartment in Boston. I love this apartment very much. I have been living here with my family for 5 months. The residents are kind, the staff is kind, especially the maintenance team is tremendous. The apartment is quiet and clean. The location is great, you can easily reach many locations. A great option for people who have just moved to Boston. It makes me especially happy that it is so close to Charles River. I can go anywhere with my bike in the summer. I aim to live here for a long time. If there was a small playground for children, it would be 10 out of 10.
There are a lot of good things about Zinc but also a lot of negatives. The walls are essentially sound proof, I could only ever hear people if they were walking by in the hallway. The concierge and maintenance specifically Josh are awesome. The amenities are overall good, the monthly events are definitely a plus. I always felt very safe. The storage units are very helpful and reasonably priced. If you live on the side that faces the commuter rail YOU WILL HEAR IT 24/7 NON STOP. They took away 50% of the outdoor seating and dining on the terrace. Also, the string lights by the grills are constantly out and you can hardly see. The hallways are dirty. It would regularly smell like trash and the carpets were stained. They don't enforce any rules in the trash room or with recycling. The package system is a nightmare. You have to wait a day after your package is delievered to get it and then wait another 20 minutes in a line at the concierge desk. Luis in the leasing office is a PAIN to deal with. He took weeks to do our leasing and was completely non responsive. He booked the wrong dates for the guest suite and told me the wrong unit number TWICE, which is obviously a safety hazard. Etc. What left me sour was how they handled our renewal process. Their renewal "offer" was right under $3,700 or $1,100 more than what we were paying. I consistently checked their website on a daily basis and not once was our unit listed for that price, it was always lower. I saw our exact layout get down to $3,000, so a new tentant signed for our unit for hundreds and hundreds of dollars less than what we were "offered" even after I had made them aware we wanted to renew. So don't expect when your lease ends that they will work with you or even offer you a reasonable renewal fee. It may be a nice place but it's not worth $3,700. You can live in the city at a way nicer place for that price or go to the new complex next door with a roof top pool and way better amenities. Update: Look at Zinc's response. That's exactly how they treat their tenants. Sorry but we don't actually care.
I had a package that was delivered to Zinc with FedEx record but was never delivered to me. I emailed zinc office first, no reply for 1 week. I called the office next time and they said they can’t do anything because “FedEx record does not work as a proof of delivery”. They told me to go talk to concierge to resolve the issue and said office can’t do anything even just to look at delivery records or talk to concierge - these were declined. Some concierge at Zinc are brand new and all they could do was look again inside the storage and tell me it’s not there. I repeated this for about 3times and had to give up. 1 month later, I received the package without any saying. Delivery date was written the package as 1 month before. I assume it was delivered to someone else or was in the storage room for 1month. This could have been resolved much earlier if the office could help me when I asked. Now it’s outside the return period and I don’t need it anymore. Anyways in short, they don’t take responsibility or help you when your package get lost just like condos with no concierge.
I stayed there in 2018 , amazing property but Greystar and property manager has still not refunded my deposit after continues follow ups for $500 since last three years
The concierge is everything to the community. Apartments are great, solid construction with good sound proof and nice amenities. The pool is missing but overall good. The leasing office is a pain and hard to deal with, I been requesting an apartment with balcony for almost 2 yes and nothing. I would not be living here if was for the leasing office but the concierge, rest of the staff and apartments makes it out for it.
Nice place to live, near to green line station and orange line not far away. Plenty of green spaces near by. Pet friendly and good managment.
Amazing place to live, very quiet and construction noise was really not an issue. The apartment is clean and stylish with a great layout and reasonable price. There are many interesting activities for residents to bond with our community. Staff, management and concierge are all very nice!
It's a lovely place and has a really convenient neighborhood. I've stayed here for 3 months and I really like this apartment. However, on the day we moved out, I found that the staff of this apartment entered our room before the check out time without permission and stole my stuff. I was really angry about this and it is really uncomfortable to know that strangers may enter my room at anytime and even stole my properties. I really want to give a five stars comment but I am so disappointed about the manager ignoring our complaint after we moved out. Please take care of your properties if you are going to stay in this apartment.
I toured with Caszell Morris and it was a great experience. He was very personable and kind. He was actually cooking for a building wide cookout. Talk about going above and beyond. The gym here was quite nice and the units were well kept with nice hardwood floors. The unit I toured has a nice layout and a bit more spacious. I did really like the outdoor patio with built in grills.
We have been living in Zinc for 15 months. We are so glad we made the choice. It’s a large building but very well maintained. We sometimes had to call the maintenance. They came in time, super friendly and got things done. We never had any problem living in the building. Big callout for Aizhan and Josh, they helped us a lot!
