Zoar Trail @ Paugussett State Forest

There's about a dozen parking spaces here. Lovely park with view of Lake Zoar. However, I can't for the life of me understand why there is a sign that says "No Swimming"... People can drive a boat in the lake, but you want to tell me I'm not allowed to swim in it? That's a load of horse $h!t.

Park is OK for forest walk. We took Zoar trail and it was very challenging. In case you tired there are no connectors to shorten your trail. So plan on advance and be prepared.

The kids loved it! The dogs loved it! It was an easy hike for the kids because of the flat trails. We will be going back soon.

Parking lot not big , maybe a dozen cars. Hiking trails along Hausatonic river beautiful, with enough up and down hills to give you good workout

End of great quarter rd in newtown CT is the trail head for the zoar trail. We hiked for 7.6 miles in a loop. Moderate hikenot easy. Plenty of ups and downs. Trail passes by a nice brook, to prydden falls, passes by hillsides covered with moss and ferns which looks stunning!!!

Beautiful forest and lovely walking trail. It’s long and difficult but a lot of fun with different terrains.

Moderate hike, waterfall was fairly dried up today. Make sure you bring a map or have a good sense of direction as trail markings can be a bit confusing.

It has beautiful hikes, but unfortunately the recent storm has left large parts of the trail unusable. This place really is a gem, so I hope they invest the resources to clean up the downed trees or blaze a new trail around the debris. Otherwise this park is 5/5 and the best in the region for hiking.

Great hike we enjoyed it with our 2 dogs - pretty views of the water and the trail was mostly marked well other than a few spots.
