Delicious. Delicious. Delicious! One of the best places I stopped in while in Albuquerque. I love a good Gyro and this one was it. The meat has good flavor and the gyro has thin sliced tomato and onion on it which I really liked. I don’t care for tzatziki so I can’t really say anything about it, but I did hear it was made in store from scratch. I also ordered the hummus. It also is scratch made and amazing! It came with soft, warm pita slices. It was a plain style, but it had some seasoning and an olive on top. Not short on flavor though! I believe one of the owners is who helped me at the counter and my server was attentive. I ate outside on their patio and it was quiet and clean. The building is in a strip mall, kind of unassuming but the restaurant itself was nice and food was great. Too bad I live on the other side of the country or I’d make this a regular place! I’ll have to remember for the future! If you find yourself wanting something casual but different, try Zorba’s!
My partner and I love Zorba's. We go there as often as possible. The food and service are always excellent. We've gone for lunch and dinner. We've never experienced any kind of prejudice despite being an interracial gay couple. In fact, the owner greets us and remembers us every time. We love the ambience. Our only disappointing experience with Zorba's is finding them closed. Highly recommended!
What a great find. Recently moved to Albuquerque, and craving my regular go to for some delicious Greek cuisine. It was apparent that I walked into a restaurant that is used to serving regulars. The gyro i was looking forward to exceeded my expectations. From the minute i walked in it was obvious that excellent service and quality is the norm. The quality and authenticity of my much looked forward to late lunch was delicious. Affordable quality, authenticity and super prices make it a reliable go to. Thank You Zorba’s for an excellent gyro and salad !
My wife and I both women came here for date night and spent $70 up front, tipping $10 for service before we were served. When we first ordered, the service was fine. As soon as we sat down side by side and it became obvious we were a couple, the service became terrible. We were both shocked. The waitress slopped my wife's soup right out of the bowl, not even bothering to set it on the table; she just thrust the bowl at my wife. Similarly, the waitress did not bother to put any food on the table and just shoved the plates at us until we took them out of her hands. Throughout our meal, the waitress went to every other table in the restaurant multiple times to take their empty plates, ask how their meal was, and so on. She did not come to our table or speak to us even once. When I went up front to ask for a box for leftovers, she was visibly upset. I have never experienced such open and bizarre homophobia from a restaurant in Albuquerque before. We will not be taking our money to Zorba's "Fine" Greek Cuisine again, and I suggest anyone looking for good service do the same.
The server I had was exceptionally rude. She made some people in my group really uncomfortable with how uncomfortable SHE was with serving drinks. One person in my group gave up ordering a drink and ended up just sticking with water to avoid the 20 question interrogation on the terms an. Conditions of getting a glass of wine. When i first ordered a beer, she scoffed at me and told me I needed to order food as well, which I did, no problem if its a restaurant policy - but, the way this was said to me made me feel unwelcome. After an hour, I went to order a second drink. The server grilled me on what I had to eat and when I told her, she aggressively asserted that there was no way I wasnt drunk and no way I would be safe driving home. While I knew what I was requesting was not unreasonable, I let her know that I totally understood if she felt that a refuse to serve was necessary....Then she changed her mind? As I'm paying out she keeps asking me"so you can hold your liquor? You promise me your good to drive?" It was SO strange and I'm sure she meant well but I just have never been grilled over getting a second drink. Whats worse is if she legitimately felt I was over the limit...then she should not have served me. I didn't understand why she interrogated me only to serve me anyways. While the food was good, i think I'll stick with other places to eat where the staff knows how to appropriately serve drinks or refuse service as needed.
This is not your average white washed Greek restaurant. It is in fact cuisine and makes me feel as if I'm at a friends home having dinner. It is full flavor the way it should be, no "frufru" food here. Vegetarian options: Available and abundant Kid-friendliness: Family setting, very welcoming Parking: Shared with several businesses, but not a big lot Wheelchair accessibility: Available Dietary restrictions: Everything is made fresh including cutting and marinating their meat so I'm sure they can accommodate
I ordered a gyro to go and waited for it to be made. When I got my gyro home, the meat looked dry and old, but I was going to give it a try anyway. I heated it up for 15 seconds or so in the microwave because it was cold. After it was heated, it smelled like dog food…it went right in the trash. Never going there again.
Speedy, kind customer service. If you want authentic, go to Zorba's.
Unfortunately not as good as it once was. Stale pita, gross tomatoes and barely any sauce even though we all asked for extra. Also, the lady at the register assured me she had checked to make sure we had everything we ordered. Long behold once I got home we realized we were missing a few items.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
Excellent place to get a gyro! Relaxed atmosphere and great service. I would suggest trying the spanokopita or the Avgolemono soup. Can't wait to go back!Food: 5/5
