A Bread Affair

About

The Artistry & Alchemy of Bread. It is what we live for. We’re proud to be British Columbia’s first Certified Organic Bakery.

Description

A Bread Affair was conceived by a passion for great bread. Our Certified Organic artisan breads are lovingly made in small batches by the hands of our skilled artisan bakers, without preservatives, using slow fermentation to coax the flavours out of each and every loaf. We have searched locally, across Canada and the world, to source what we believe are the best and purest ingredients. From the farm to our hands, to your table. Once you taste our breads, nothing else will do.

Best cookies in the city. A bold statement, I know, but I was lucky enough to be raised by a mom who makes incredible cookies, and I make pretty darn good cookies myself. On my best cookie day, however, I can’t compete with a cookie from Bread Affair. We love all of them, but our personal faves are the peanut butter and choco lava cookies. I generally don’t order peanut butter cookies, as they’re often dry and disappointing. Not these thicc n’ tasty culinary miracles, though. Chewy, just the right amount of sweetness, and a mouth feel that makes you want to break out in song. Cookie Pro Tip: freeze your cookie then slather the top in a layer of ice cream. Mmmmmm. Why are you still reading this? Go get yourself a cookie!
Nice vibe: nice latte, good music, friendly staff. Matcha latte: a little bit watery-milky, not strong matcha flavor. Energy bite: delightfully nutty, chocolatey, and coconut flavor
Really nice staff and good smelling bakery. The cinnamon bun was good. Don’t recommend their iced coffee tho, it was watered down and already comes with milk and sweetener so can’t make adjustments.
Nice, buttery croissants, especially if you can buy them when they are just baked..yumm! Cinnamon roll is also amazing. Cookies are alright
Visited this bakery on a sunny trip to Granville Island. The man working here was very helpful, giving us his personal recommendations, as well as free samples of their fresh bread! I thoroughly enjoyed my pistachio croissant and my friend loved her almond croissant!
Really want to rate it higher because the other food looked amazing and the workers were so nice but the brioche pizza was so bad I couldn’t eat itsorry if its an unfair review if other menu items are good!!
Delicious sandwiches! We had ginger ale as well. Sitting by the water eating the delicious food was a wonderful break during our time at Granville Island.
Friendly service and great prices, especially considering its the best bakery I've been to in Vancouver. I work on the island and go in most days and I've never been disappointed. Highly recommend the ham/cheese croissant and the orange chocolate scone
The pizza danish? and cookies here were delicious, however a loaf of bread that my fiance brought home from home molded very quickly.
This artesian bread bakery on Granville Island features the slow fermentation technique..the staff are very friendly and welcoming..a discussion of the bread varieties is fun to engage in..
