Great parties are remembered long after they take place. Memories are created and shared; people are brought together. Food is something that has always evoked memory for me. The smell of sauerkraut and kielbasa makes me think of my grandma and Easter holidays. Cookies baking reminds me of my mother, and the dozens upon dozens of cookies we would prepare every Christmas to give as gifts and binge on guiltlessly. Food and a thoughtfully planned party are my way of remembering and making those I have invited in feel comfortable and ready to make new memories.
