A. Patrick Beckel
President
Patrick is an Ohio native and was born and raised up the street in Springfield, OH. He attended Wright State University where he studied management/marketing and played varsity tennis.
Patrick has been in the financial services industry for over 18 years, in which time he has specialized in very advanced comprehensive financial planning.
Patrick has been married to his beautiful wife Hao for 7 years and they have two wonderful boys Duncan 6 and Connor 4.
Patrick is very involved in his community:
• Member of Rotary International for 11 years
• Past Vice-President of the Community Leadership Academy
• Past President of the Springfield Leaders Club
• Past President of the Springfield city Council advisory committee
• Past Director of Tennis for the city of Springfield.
• Volunteer for the Interfaith Hospitality Network.
In his spare time Patrick likes to travel with his family and play competitive golf and tennis all over the world.
Cynthia Garland
Vice President
Cynthia, better known as Cindy, was born and raised in Springfield, OH where she still resides. She is one quarter away from completing a Business Management degree at Clark State where she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Dean’s List.
Cynthia has been in the insurance industry for over 4 years, in which time she has specialized in property and casualty. She worked for Assurant Specialty Property and managed property policies for EMC Mortgage and US Bank as well as handled loss claims.
Cynthia is very involved in charity events for the following organizations:

• American Red Cross, Springfield Chapter
• Leadership Clark County
• Junior Achievement
• American Heart Association
• 2nd Harvest Food Bank
• Relay for Life
• Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
• United Way
In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys competing in 5k races, playing indoor soccer, traveling, and spending time with her 5 year old puggle named Buddy.
Melissa Jackson
Administrative
Melissa, Missy for short, is the resident office customer/research specialist. She was born and raised in Springfield, OH and now resides in Riverside. She is a devoted mother to 3 daughters, Maizie, Victoria, and Payton, as well as a stepdaughter, Kierah. She enjoys spending time with her kids and fiancé of 5 years Kris.
Missy has worked in childcare for 15 years and is excited to be able to take care of adults now. She has been with Nationwide Insurance since May 2012 and is enjoying helping others.
Kimberly West
Agent
Kim was born and raised in Dayton, OH. She currently resides in Springboro with her husband Rodney and her two children. Her son Austin is in 6th grade and her daughter Ashley is a freshman in high school. Kim has her bachelor’s in Business Management from Bowling Green State University. Kim and her husband currently own a retail hardware store in Belmont, OH, a store that has been in business since 1974 and was originally started by her father.
In her spare time, Kim loves to spend time with her kids and watch them participate in soccer, football, and softball. She enjoys camping, outdoor recreational activities, and traveling.
Kim specializes in various types of insurance. She started her insurance career with Farmers insurance and now is proud to represent Nationwide Insurance.
Sherry Witwer
Office Manager
Our Office Manager, Sherry, has lived in the Miami Valley area her entire life. She graduated class of 1997 from Centerville High School, and now lives in Springfield.
Sherry has 15 years of sales and customer service experience including over 8 years in the fine jewelry business, and has also worked as a Program Coordinator for the local Muscular Dystrophy Association in Dayton.
Her passion is music. She is the lead singer in a local band called High Five. You may have seen her sing at local festivals such as the Centerville Americana Festival, and Kettering Holiday at Home Festival.
Sherry is very eager to get to know you and other Nationwide members.
