Company hired me with 0 experience and promised they would train me properly to succeed in my role as a optical sales representative. Training was 3 weeks long and then I was thrown into the field and asked to sell, manager Alessandra does not help what so ever, if you have any questions she just tells you to ask someone else or belittles you for not knowing on your own. I was told upon hire that the role takes about 6 months to adjust too and that I would be assisted in any way along the process. After 2 months of employment I had a sudden death in the family on a Friday morning and I informed Alessandra I would need the day off to cope with the loss. Monday morning I was told to get on a microsoft teams call, when I joined the HR manager and Alessandra were both on the call and I was informed that I was fired because “I wasn’t grasping the information of the job fast enough”. Alessandras mother is also the head of HR department so when I looked to speak to someone about this matter, nobody cared to listen.
If you're a trucker I recommend entering on nw 124th ave on the side entrance. That is where the dock door is located to so it makes for a easy straight back. They have cones blocking the entrance but you can move them to park. They allowed me to park overnight. There is a security guard patrolling at night. He was nice. My appointment is for 6 am so if you have a later appointment I'm not sure if they would be OK with you parking but by then it would be too late lol Also no restrooms at night. Supposedly they have them inside when they open
Taking two weeks to receive lenses. After paying upwards of $400, they turned around and sent snail mail UPS Surepost. Customer service apologized and that was the end of it. Now out of contacts since my eye doc didn’t have my prescription in stock. Have worn contacts my entire adult life, I can safely say this is the worst experience ordering them.
If you're desperate then yes work at this place otherwise find yourself something better. People giving interviews they prefer their own friends. They care less about others.
I used ABB as my contact lens distributor for the last few years before selling my practices- spent tens of thousands of dollars with them during this time. After paying off my final statement balances, they would not let me close my accounts for some mysterious reason. Poor customer service which left a bad taste in my mouth.
I was only there for 2 days. It’s not a bad job. The environment is fast pace and your shift go by pretty quick. The person who trained me was kinda odd which ruined the experience for me but besides that it’s not bad compared to other jobs.
this has to be the worst job I’ve ever had. the staff is extremely rude and inconsiderate towards the pickers and packers. they slave these people working here. I am in disbelief at how unprofessional the leads and supervisors are. they ignore you and look down upon you like you’re less than them. also, before I was unexpectedly fired for my “attitude” I gave 2 supervisors when they made me pick the last truck KNOWING the conveyor was backed up this was my nighttime task the entire conveyor was filled with stacks of totes that took 45 minutes STRAIGHT to clear. I was the last person in the entire warehouse besides one lead. this is a pure example of favoritism within this company. meanwhile the day before that a different lead allowed me to start clearing the conveyor during the last 6 trucks people had to pick so that nothing gets backed up. they need more employees like that there. the boss has an extremely high ego and the staff is over all arrogant. oh yeah they also don’t care if you’re having back/neck pain from all of the bending and lifting you’re required to do while working there. no compassion. the company broke the rules and fired me with no hesitation. the steps to being terminated from ABB Optical Group are verbal warning, written warning, suspension and then termination. they did not follow these steps and with no care left me jobless. I was a great picker, my score was at a 96% and I was on track with getting to work on time more until I got a call from the senior HR, not even the boss, that I was being fired. I advise you not to work here, it’s not worth the money or physical and mental stress.
People have a misunderstanding of this place but at the end of the day it's a business that has to be ran and utilized throughout our modern day society. It's a great place to work and have great futuristic plans for its specialist during and after employment. Just put in the work, go home, go to school and everything else will fall in place. Good Day Happy People!!!!
Believe them when they tell you the training is hard. If you are not willing to put in the work, study even after your off the clock, taking a test every week, learn slower than others don’t even waste your time. It’s like starting college all over again. They say it gets easier once the training is over though but who likes to put go through that stress for $15 ‍
Terrible place to buy contacts! Buyer beware ! They sent a years worth of contacts and my sons contact prescription changed. The unopened boxes were supposed to be returnable if unopened. Well - my doctor tried returning and there were 2 tiny creases in the boxes - I mean tiny in the corner and ABB refused to have them returned for credit for a different script. The kicker is that they arrived to my home with creases like that - every single box ! So if there’s a scratch a tiny crease and your eyes happen to change - you’ll be out 400 bucks . My doctor gets free lenses and I’m in the hole! I’m taking my business elsewhere!
