Abby Kennels holds the highest standard for their breeding program which begins with proven German shepherd Dogs. All our females and males are first tested for stability and confirmation. All hips are checked by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.

Description

We are a full service pet facility. Some of the services we provide are overnight boarding, grooming, and professional dog training classes and private lessons taught by Owner, and Master Trainer, Kevin Lanouette. Kevin is a two time US World Schutzhund Team member, and breeder of the highest quality of working line German Shepherds. Abby Kennels is also the home of the Concord River Dog Training Club, a member of the United Schutzhund Clubs of America (USCA).

Abby Kennels is under new management and lots of physical changes to the building. Mary is wonderful ‼ I have an extremely high energy 1yr old German Shepherd old. I sent Sammie to doggie bootcamp for 3 week's. When I picked her up she had been taught self-control and socialization, along with basic obedience. Mary is not your average dog trainer. We now call her auntie Mary because we love her.
As an owner of a high drive,in tact, GSD it was nearly impossible to find a day care that would accept my boy. I was referred to Abby Kennels by my neighbor and it’s been the best experience since day one. My dog loves seeing his friends, both human and canine, when I drop him off. They take really good care of my dog and are invested in his health/ training. The staff are super friendly and keep a close eye on the dogs when they’re out in the yard not allowing any escalation or “funny business.” They send pictures of how happy he is and when I pick him up they always give me a quick report of how the day went and if there is anything I need to work on with him. Best of all.. I have one tired puppy dog when we get home. I highly recommend Abby Kennels!
I'm not sure where to start, I will never board another dog at this facility. Prices quoted when booking were different then prices when called to confirm my dogs stay. They charge extra fees for everything including giving meds in pill pockets which all were provided. Communication from that start was poor and I wish I had called another place but it was too late for holiday booking at that time. Not to mention the hours and days open changed per phone call. But here's the kicker, brought my dog home and now here we sit in a emergency clinic with a kennel cough diagnosis. The staff on the phone was rude and the woman at the desk was extremely rude the only thing that eased me was the kennel girl who seemed sweet and caring.
Kevin and his team did amazing work with my stubborn German shepherd. My dog is an almost perfect gentleman at a little over a year old. He really taught us the skills to have the dog listen very well. And he still has his unique charm.
Took our beautiful dog with his beautiful think fur here for a trim. Was told may cut a “little” short due to “matting”. Picked him up and he looked entirely different - just a little over an inch left and not even cut evenly! So disappointed and really upset. Def not coming back and will not recommend.
Brought my dog here for doggy day care when he was just a puppy and it was awful. I thought it would just take time for him to get used to, but it became clear after a while that something was just not right. He would be shaking like a leaf and pulling away not wanting to go....and run as fast as he could out of the place at the end of the day. I Brough him to a new place and he loved it! Much happier, enjoyed going to play with the other pups and would be pulling me to go inside rather than terrified
Great place to train your dog. It's also a good kennel for those times when you need to leave your dog in good hands for a few days. If you are looking for a quality working line GSD, you're at the right place.
Dont board your dog here. We boarded our dog here years ago and he would always soil his bed which is unlike him but we attributed it to the new environment. We realized it when he started having aversions to the place and would try to bolt to the street any time we brought him to abby kennels. We brought him to a new border and never had this issue and came back happy, the same weight, and he played outside with other dogs daily instead of being locked in a cage. Instead of running away from the boarder now, he runs to it. Dont make the same mistake we did! Still feel guilty for ever putting him here.
A little expensive but they took care of my pup during a storm and made sure he was was warm with a coat. They include a bath and nail cut before he came home. He seemed very well when I picked him up and when getting home was alot happier then other times he's been boarded elsewhere.
