Erika Jurado-Graham was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Monterrey, Mexico by a Mexican single mother. Following the 1994 Economic Crisis in Mexico, her mother and close relatives immigrated to the United States in search of better economic opportunities. Erika was attending law school at the time her family moved to the U.S. and she stayed behind to complete her studies. Erika graduated from Law School in Mexico at the top of her class, and shortly thereafter, moved to the United States with her family.
Later, Erika Jurado-Graham attended Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where she obtained a Juris-Doctorate Degree. While in Law School, Erika was the president of the Hispanic American Law Student Association, and two-term secretary of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy. Following her graduation, she established her own practice at the heart of the Immigrant Community in Kansas City, Kansas. Erika is licensed in Kansas, Missouri and the country of Mexico. Immigration law is federal law, immigration attorneys are permitted to practice immigration in most states; however, certain jurisdictions impose severe restrictions on multijurisdictional practice. Erika is a frequent guest at local radio and television shows where she discusses topics that affect the immigrant community. She is currently the immigration consultant at Noticias Univision Kansas. Recently, the producers of “Aqui y Ahora,” a Univision national TV show, traveled to Kansas City to interview Erika for the documentary “Deportation, Inc.” Erika also has a weekly radio show at La X-1250 in Kansas City where she talks about current immigration law topics and provides the audience with general information.
Erika Jurado-Graham is currently one of the top three social media immigration personalities in the United States with over 300,000 followers on her Facebook page. In addition, her Youtube channel receives thousands of visits on a weekly basis and her immigration videos have over a million views.
