Description

HISTORY

The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Alabama (later renamed to Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Alabama) convened and assembled in the city of Huntsville on Tuesday, August 21, 1906. A petition from J.W. Williams, T.M. Barnett, D. Jemison and others, from Lowndes County, Alabama was granted.

On that same day a charter was issued to begin operating as a Legal Lodge in Lowndes County, Alabama. Allowing them to assemble together as Masons under a warrent of Dispensation from the Most Worshipful Grand Master and the Grand Lodge.

Abraham Lodge operated for 46 servicing the community and raising men to the sublime degree of Master in the county. The lodge was moved and rebuilt in 1952 to Montgomery, Alabama at its present location under the leadership of Brother James Washington, W.M.

Abraham Lodge continues to service the community through various lodge fund-raiser, volunteering, and helping of the Montgomery Area Food Bank. Under permission from the MWPHGL of Alabama. Abraham holds the authority to initiate, pass, and raise deserving men to the degree of Master Masters
