The Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is known for its welcoming personality, its collection of high-end athletes, and its spectacular user-friendly teaching style. Upon entering the school, each new student has said they felt comfortable, at home, and knew this was a place where they would learn quickly and at an extremely high level. Joining the school is a place where athletes can train freely, greatly progress in their abilities, and improve their tournament game. In addition, the school is a family. Students spend time together on and off the mat. Once a part of The Academy, students feel tied together not just through the sport, but through the philosophy they learn about the art.
Todd and Jared Nathanson are the reason The Academy has the strong structure that anyone can feel walking through the door. They teach Jiu-Jitsu in a way that combines the most effective use of physical and mental acuity. Students learn attacks and defenses that allow them to adapt their own personal abilities to their body and mind. Students learn Jiu-Jitsu in a way that allows them to take the information they've learned in class and directly apply the essence of the sport to their daily activities to better improve themselves and their life. As a student at the Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu you will not only learn how to compete but you will find value added to your life as well.
Even beyond their knowledge of the sport and the thinking behind it, they are able to assist their students in preparing for real-life situations and competition. Whenever students want to participate in a competition, Todd and Jared create special classes for these students to attend to help them properly prepare for competition. At these classes they provide tournament drills to enhance thinking, endurance, and skills. On competition days, Todd, Jared, and a group of students will go to coach and support their family during their matches. The Academy wants nothing more than for its students to reach their potential and to have the best Jiu-Jitsu career they can have. The ultimate idea: learn, understand, perform, and share. Under this ideal, The Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will continue to grow as a family and as a group of incredibly talented practitioners.
