Promoting Financial Literacy
The purpose of this organization is to provide the students of Broward College with an interest in accounting an opportunity to engage in service learning initiatives, and network with professionals in the industry while promoting professional and academic excellence.
The Accounting Students Association wishes to provide students with an opportunity to:
• Develop their professional acumen through networking with fellow peers, professionals in the industry and other faculty members.
• Promote service learning and community engagement by encouraging our members to participate in the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITAS) program.
• Become active members of an international organization, the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) – South Florida Chapter Become active members of an international organization, the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) – South Florida Chapter &/or the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA)
• To Attend conferences and seminars and other events being held by both the NABA southern region chapter and ALPFA
• Participate in and organize workshops aimed toward professional development
