We completely enjoyed our day at Ace Adventure! Our rafting guide was Brenna and she was awesome! It was our first time rafting and we had children with usthe youngest being 6. Brenna was very patient, encouraging & fun! For a person whose not comfortable in, near, over or around deep water I can honestly say I’m so glad I went! We did the all day trip so we stopped at a nice place on the river and had a surprisingly delicious lunch and an opportunity to swim in the river and relax for a little while. This adventure was definitely worth the drive for us! If you go ask for Brenna!
Last weekend our group of friends went rafting down the New River with Kevin and Tug. Kevin was our boat guide and was AWESOME! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly - could not have asked for a better first time white water rafting experience. Kevin also took us on an adventure with what he called the "West Virginia Jacuzzi" - best part of the trip! I would highly recommend Ace as they were professional and helpful throughout the entire rafting experience. Lunch on the river was also very nice, however we didn't eat much because we ate before rafting and weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into. If you book a trip with Ace Adventure Resort be sure to ask for Kevin to be your guide. When we visit again as I am sure we will, Kevin is the guy we want in our boat!
We brought our 24 person Boy Scout Troop. Phillip was our guide on the New River. This was the warmest White Water I ever felt. It was refreshing. The rapids were great. Lunch was impressive on the river. Camping is not close to anything. It is not a big deal, but you will drive to the rafting pickup or the water park. It is nice that they space everyone out else camping. I would highly recommend rafting with Ace.
Most incredible place in the Country for outdoor experiences! The service is impeccable, and the staff make you feel like part of their family. If you want to get away and enjoy the great outdoors and even go white water rafting this is #1 in the Nation. You will enjoy every part of your experience with ACE. I wouldn't choose any other place to take my family rafting. Go see it for yourself! And be ready for the adventure of a lifetime!!!
The lake obstacle course/water park was so much fun. Lots to do and never felt that anything was not in peak condition. We went rafting the next day and our guide, Jordan, was AMAZING. Never felt like I was in danger or that she didn't know what she was doing. The rafting was a lot of fun and we as a group her favorite group got along great. Jordan made sure that everyone had fun and we got the best ride possible. Jackson, the leader of our expedition was hilarious and fun to be around. Dalton helped out my brother a lot and kept everyone included. All around an amazing trip. Hope to go back soon.
My family stayed in a cabin for two nights. It's rustic but clean. Nothing fancy but comfortable. My teenagers loved the water park. We did an all day, lower New, rafting trip. The guides were fantastic and despite our inexperience, moderate fitness, and a few nerves, it was a blast!! Really just a perfect day on the river. The provided lunch was tasty and plentiful. There were a lot of other activities at Ace that looked fun and we'll check them out next time. ATV rides, zip lines, ropes course, and lots of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Can't wait to return!
We had the best time rafting all day with Jackson. Very informative, yet willing to allow us to enjoy the Gorge. Scottie was hilarious. Then we went zipping through the tress with Larissa, an Emma, n Justin. Nature couldn't have been more peaceful. The crew couldn't have done a better job. You could tell they're all very well trained. Enjoyed every minute of our Adventures. Definitely one for the bucket list that is for sure.
Did the rafting overnight with Jake and Jack with Brenna joining the next day! 5 star experience from the rafting to the camping, those guys are top notch chefs too with the meals they cooked up for us! Had Jake in the raft for the 7 miles of high class rapids and couldn't be happier, he made sure we hit all the good stuff and had a ton of fun! Very informative with the local landmarks along the river! Hope we can get down there again but definitely request those guys!
I booked this place thinking it was “ Adventures on the Gorge”, where we have stayed at once before. Upon arrival I realized it was something completely different. No big deal, also that was my mistake but it worked out as we wanted the water park experience anyway. Staff here was 5 star. All the ladies at check-in were amazing. At the waterpark on 9/3 there was an older gentleman who stayed at the pillow jump the majority of the day, he needs to be recognized. This man went above and beyond to explain to everyone how to jump, where to jump, what to do after. He was extremely patient, informative and professional. We all agreed that the pizza here was some of the best we’ve ever had. We enjoyed the live music. Drinks were delicious as well. This was a very last minute vacation. When I went online to book, all cabins were sold out. I found a cabin tent that was available and quickly jumped on booking it. I wish I had stayed in my own tent. This was the only thing I can complain about here. Upon arrival there was trash everywhere outside of A17 cabin tent. Bandages, cigarettes, armbands, paper towels all over the ground. I started to pick up the trash outside the tent and instructed my kids to go inside and wipe down the mats on the beds. We pulled the mats off to clean them, wow! Not only did our rags turn black from the dirt on them, under the beds were condoms, clothes, paper towels and more used bandages. My kids were looking up in the top opening and discovered clothes/towels that had been left behind. I spent the first half of this trip cleaning this area before I could feel safe and clean, not how I wanted to kick off my end of summer vacation. Like I said, that was the only part I can complain about. Overall we had a great time.
First off let me start by saying that Ariel & Sarah are amazing. Our vacation started with a bump. But, when we addressed it they were quick to respond and handle it and exceeded our expectations. We love this place! The water park is fun for all ages and activity level. There is so much to do - fishing, ziplining, white water rafting, ropes course and all with the gorgeous backdrop of the park.
