Super helpful staff at this spot and a wide variety of plumbing hardware and all sorts of things you would need it's definitely a lot smaller than Lowe's or home Depot but it's a lot easier to interact with the employees and they seem quite a bit more skilled.
As always a very knowledgeable and helpful employee helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I especially like that I can buy individual screws, nuts, locknuts, or washers and don't have to buy prepackaged where you end up with leftovers. Overall the experience is always great because not only they have what you need but they help you find it.
While it may not have the complete selection of local big box stores, Ace can very likely meet the every day demands of the average shopper. The service here is friendly, professional, and helpful. While it may still be part of a larger chain of stores, there's more of a "Mom & Pop" feel to this place that I appreciate.
Went in for some supplies I needed for a job. I was greeted and welcomed as friend and the staff went out of their way to help me. Sometimes when I go into a store I literally feel like the workers hide from the customers. That is not the case here. Good job guys!
It seems like many employees are not knowledgeable on their products or where their products are. My first time here I followed an employee around for 10 minutes going in and out of the same 3 aisles before he realized we had passed the item I was looking for several times. My last time here I went back for another can of “semi-gloss white spray paint”. Upon arriving, they were out of stock. They said to come back the next day and they MIGHT have it. Having already driven out to the store, I asked if there was anything similar to the semi-gloss paint that was easy to clean, if not, I would just come back the next day. After about 2 minutes they gave me “satin” spray paint. I tried it today and it’s the OPPOSITE of semi-gloss. The texture is rough and now I’m having to sand it back to start all over. TLDR: if you know exactly what you need, this place is fine. If you need help picking out items or need someone knowledgeable to guide you in your decision, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
Everyone there was kind and greeted me with welcome. I was in and out under 5 minutes. Its nice to go somewhere and the people know what the hell they sell. Today's experience was far better and successful than home depot.
This place is definitely better than the big, box stores. They greet you and offer you help if you need it as soon as you walk in. At big stores, you would be lucky to get help and sometimes when you find one, they can't even help you because they do not know. Their prices are competitive, so this is definitely my go-to place to get supplies for home repair projects
From my mother's recent challenges with this store and its policies: "On September 30, 2020, i went into the Ace Hardware in Gilroy to buy some of the 10-pk high energy suet cakes for the advertised price of $5.99. The man at the counter said he had not received any, but to come back on Friday when he expected to receive them. And, of course, he would honor the advertised September sale price. On Friday, the 10-pk suet cakes still had not been received. I called today to find out if they had been received and was told there were four in stock. When i asked whether they would honor the September advertised price, i was told they would not. I WILL NO LONGER BE DOING BUSINESS WITH YOUR DISREPUTABLE STORES. Disgusting way to do business. I hope your entire company goes out of business. " I hope that's helpful for other people who might be similarly disappointed. We'll certainly be looking for another hardware store in the area.
Why-oh-why did I ever go to Lowes?! This place is awesome. Helpful staff, easy to find things, and easy to find the staff which is more than I can say for those big box hardware stores. Every time I go here, I have to try and talk myself down from a new project that comes to me as I look around.
Great local hardware store!
