Elliott Beach Rentals was good. The only problem we had was with the rental. The king bed was so low, that we couldn't use it. We complained, and Elliott Beach Rental was to call the owner. It's up to the owner whether to fix it or not. Not a lot of utensils in the kitchen either, couple of pots and pans. No dish towel, pot holders, measuring cups, etc. but we didn't do a lot of cooking. Living room was very nice.
I honestly am baffled by some of the negative feedback. Even when I went to register there was a man ahead of me with a laundry list of compliments and the couple behind me didn't seem happy either. I actually felt really bad for the lady behind the counter.. She was trying so hard to help. I brought them cookies to try to cheer them up. Seemed like they had a rough day. So in my personal experience I'm either not that picky or I hit the jackpot with this place. It's BEAUTIFUL! So peaceful, amazing view. Safe and secure. I arrived on a holiday so Elliot was closed but the instructions were very clear on how to get in. I never had trouble getting through to somone when I had a question. And those questions and concerns were always answered quickly. I was told the room would be ready around 3-5pm but I got a text at noon saying it was ready. When I arrived the condo had everything I could possibly need and then some. Even an air fryer! Such a nice surprise. The unit was recently renovated and it seems they chose only the best furnishings. It feels like a luxury condo. It was spotless. I think I might even be the 1st guest. Regardless everything about this experience has been easy and way beyond expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from Elliot again. And have already recommended them to my friends. Thanks for the wonderful experience
We booked our condo months in advance and traveled 9 hours only to check into our condo to find it smelling overwhelmingly like mildew. We also found visible mold and the condo was dirty. There was also so much moisture in the condo that the blankets were damp. We went back to Elliot’s office and wanted our money back which is when they told us they have the right to “resolve” the issue first and stuck us in some condo 20 mins away from the beach. Next day they called and said our condo was good to go, we show up and it’s the exact same only they tried to mask it with some strong smelling perfume smelling stuff. Within 10 minutes our family of 5 was all exhibiting signs of breathing difficulties, headaches, and dizziness. We then packed up our things and went back to the office where they said they’d give us our money back except for the price of the condo THEY stuck us in the night before. We refused, demanded a manager and eventually got them to refund us our money. Also while there, there were multiple other people in the office complaining about issues after they checked in and how nasty their places were. Also the week before my friend and her family came down and checked into their beach house which was disgusting, and they got a refund as well. I 100% do not recommend dealing with Elliot Beach Rentals.
We stayed at Arcadia II, North Myrtle Beach in October, 2022. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay minus 1 hiccup. Our unit was almost a 5 out of 5. Needed just a bit more cleaning. All in all it was fine. The view at sunrise was fabulous and beautiful the rest of the day.
The condo was beautiful and the condo building was great. Our stay was amazing. I gave four stars because the condo could’ve been more deeply cleaned. Fans and ceilings otherwise the rest of the condo was clean. Again I will say the view was beautiful. The condo was beautiful and our stay was amazing.
What they don’t show you. We have paid $6500 for a condo that was splitting at the seams. The emergency egress lights was fried with exposed wires. The beds to the door knobs were nasty. There was only 1 broken chair and a busted picnic table outside. I contacted Elliot’s several times but they just put a bandage on it and moved on. I’m very disappointed in our stay and the way the situation was handled. This is my ONE LAST TIME #1 in North Myrtle Beach. This is my last time booking with Elliot’s.
If I could give this dive, Monterey Bay condo 1135 a negative 5 I would. This is a dump. We came down for our daughter’s volleyball tournament and was unable to stay where her team was staying- The Sheraton. Elliott Beach Rentals should be ashamed to be associated with such a hole in the wall. Talking about the difference of night and day. I thought from the photos that this would be a decent location, boy was I wrong. This is one of Myrtle Beach’s D Grade condos. D. Outdated finishes and decor are one thing, but the condition of the property is sub par. It’s obvious that not much upkeep has been done. There is no trash can in the kitchen, the windows were dirty, there was no blanket for the second bed we went and bought a blanket for our daughter stains on the walls and ceiling, paint chipping, trash behind the Murphy bed, the microwave is broken, there are dirty dishes in the cabinet, the sleeper sofa needs to be cleaned or re upholstered we actually placed towels on it to sit on itand the floor was gritty as if it had not been properly cleaned. The remote key entry wouldn’t let us back in the room. We had to buy our daughter new volleyball gear for her tournament since we could try get in the trashy room until after maintenance came later in the day. Upon returning we were harassed by a rent a cop in the parking deck, not allowing us to park our truck beside other trucks the same size, stating our was not allowed without giving us reason?? However that’s a Monterey Bay issue not an Elliot Vacation Rental issue. I felt sorry for the too old security guard, as he seemed like he was definitely not fit for his position as he could not explain his actions. We’ll process this experience as a character building experience for our daughter, as she has never been to a place of such disrepair. The unit needs repairs, redecorating, painting and a deep deep cleaning. Luckily we are only here for two nights and our schedule has been so busy, we’ve hardly been at the dive. I hope someone that is thinking of this unit for an actual vacation reads this and saves their family the stress and God awful experience that we’re having. Again, shame on your Elliot Beach rentals. Hold your property owners to higher standards. It reflects poorly on your firm.
The owners of 2306 Pointe Marsh need to do some serious repairs. The pool was badly damaged both the interior and on both sides. All widows had blinds that were missing slats allows the lights from the nearby attractions to stream in. These slats were randomly discarded in closets, under beds, TVs etc. The fire alarm on the first floor had been removed and shoved in a kitchen drawer. The carpeting on the third floor balcony was ripped and coming up causing a trip hazard. All the pool chairs were broken. We paid over $250 for this place to be cleaned and it was very dirty. There was food and bugs under and behind all the beds. Dirty clothes from previous occupants were found in two bedrooms. The carpets were extremely dirty. The elevator was out of order. The air return looked as if it had not been cleaned in months. To say the least, we were extremely disappointed. We reported all of the above to Elliot Rental during our stay and all we got was "I'm sorry".
Bottom Line: This property management company, despite what they say, does not care to fix ongoing issues. Our group consisted of five families totaling 24 individuals. We stayed in the house for one week in early August 2022. MAJOR PROBLEMS: 1. CLEANLINESS Property Manager: The house was very dirty on arrival. Trash was littered everywhere. We found empty liquor bottles under the beds upstairs. Miscellaneous trash was present throughout the property. The floors throughout were gritty/sandy, bedspreads not washed, linens were clean but stained and of cheap quality. We spent two and a half days cleaning the house just to get it to a reasonable level of cleanliness for the group. Days of vacation wasted particularly for grandma who was very concerned about the health of the children. We ran a vacuum over all the carpets and collected huge amounts of sand particularly on the stairs. We cleaned all of the cabinets and drawers, wiped down and sanitized surfaces, swept and mopped all hardwood floors, spray washed the back patio which literally had inches of sand piled up on the walkways. Cockroaches, both dead and alive, were present throughout the home throughout the week. 2. POOL MAINTENANCE Property Manager: The pool area was not maintained/functional. The hot tub was not functional. We called these problems in to the management company, but no one ever came to fix the issues. This led to a significant health problem for many of us. By the end of the week, 20 out of 24 in our group had significant sinus/ear/eye infections. Numerous doctors confirmed that the likely cause of the infections was bacteria from water. 3. GRILL GREASE Property Manager: There was a large amount of grease built up in the grill. When we lit it, a large fire broke out which we had to put out using the hose. 4. BACK PORCH SECOND FLOOR BALCONY Property Manager & Owner: The upper porch see attached picture, was in disrepair. We didn’t use it, and that was a shame because the views from the porch would have been excellent. MINOR PROBLEMS 1. Limited hooks/hangers throughout the home Owner. 2. Few rooms had blinds Owner. 3. Air hockey table was broken Elliott. 4. Many sinks and tubs didn’t have drain plugs in them. 5. Approx 50% of fridge shelves were broken 6. Washer/Dryer knobs were broken. We guessed on settings and had to “babysit” the laundry when it ran. This is of course not desirable while on vacation Elliott. 7. There are very few power outlets throughout the home. 8. The beds are crammed into the rooms with little space for anything else. Recommend owner do bunks instead. POSITIVES: 1. The location is excellent. Right on the beach. 2. Big Kitchen w/two dishwashers and two ovens/stovetops. 3. We reported problems with the air conditioning unit, and Elliott sent someone who did fix the problem. OVERALL IMPRESSION: This was the worst VRBO we’ve ever experienced, and it was a shame because it had so much potential. We spoke directly with Elliott Management at the end of the week and expressed our grievances. After much persuasion, they waived our cleaning fee and reimbursed us 16% of the rental cost. We think a 50% reduction in price would have been more appropriate as we lost two days of vacation due to cleaning efforts, fell ill due to unsanitary conditions, and missed out on what would have otherwise been some spectacular views from the second-floor deck. I have read the other negative reviews that Elliott received and noticed that Elliott responds to each negative review by trumpeting their own “superior” track record of quality and empathy. In other words, they claim quality yet ironically give little acknowledgement to valid complaints. I find this particularly irritating and anticipate bristling at their impending reply to this review. The staff at the office are friendly, but being friendly is not enough! They need to ensure their homes are safe and clean. Bottom line, this is not a house I would ever rent again while under the management of Elliott. Do NOT rent this home!
