Description

Ackley's Package Store has been in Groton since 1945. Ralph Ackley opened the store back in 1945 and now his son Alan Ackley carries on the family business. The store offers a full range of wines, liquor and beer. At Ackley's will also take customers' special orders including kegs, preferred beers and wines and spirits.

If you know your bourbon, come to this place! Very fair prices and they also have rare collections , like EH Taylor single barrel, Blantons, George Stagg, but those are priced a bit high.. I bought Juke Joint BlueNote for. $40!! Can’t find a better price anywhere for that! Widow Jane 10 for $36?? Are you kidding me? If you’re around there and in need of a bottle! Do it!

Liquor Palace is a Gem in the small town of Groton,CT. Clean, large space with a broad variety of your beverage of choice. What takes Liquor Palace to the next level is their plethora of pre designed “to-go” cocktails. They are super fun! The new “Jim Drink” is a must! Thank you for showing our town something new!!

Came into Liquor Palace and was greeted by Rock. Excellent selection across the board and especially the bourbon. He gave me and a friend quite a few tastings and I was able to find a bottle of bourbon I’ve been searching for. Excellent customer service and will definitely be back!
This was my first time here. Clean, organized, well lit, good value, wide selection of liquor, beer, wine, IPAs, and appreciative owner behind the register. I was in an out of here in under five minutes.
I am giving three stars because I have ordered through door dash and they cancelled 2 separate orders in a row!
Used to go there nearly everyday when I lived in Groton to purchase items because it was within walking distance from my house. Everyone was so friendly, we always had great conversations! I miss the area very much:

The manager The Ackley Family is the biggest bunch of douches out there. There is no such thing of respect for guests in the store. She straight said to me to get out of a conversation that my friend was in. She was the rudest individual I've ever dealt with.
