Acree-Davis Funeral Home

About

From traditional to selective and creative funeral needs, we are available for professional and courteous service.

Description

In April of 1941, Thomas T. Acree and Frank Y. Davis founded Acree-Davis Funeral Home. In 1944, Mr. Acree retired due to ill health and his interests were purchased by Mr. Davis and his wife, Laura Stovall Davis. Three generations of the Davis Family have owned and operated the business for almost seventy years. The Davis’ daughter and son-in-law, Fran Davis Jarrett and Gary Jones Jarrett, have been joined by son, Henry Stovall Jarrett, and son-in-law, Doug Scott, as they continue the solid principles of dignity, compassion and professionalism set by those many years ago. An excellent facility and caring staff are offered to all we are privileged to serve. The loyalties of the families we have served give us great joy and pride and have provided us with deep and lasting friendships. Our family pledges to carry only the highest standard forward into the next generations to come.

The death of my Papa Donald Simmons has been very hard on me and our whole family to say the least. Everyone at Acree-Davis were wonderful from 3am that Friday morning when they got the call to come to my house to pick his body up, to meeting with Hank the next day to make arrangements. As I went out to his grave today and seen his death date placed on the marker next to Granny’s it just brings back all the memories of those days. I want to personally thank everyone at the funeral home for making all of us feel as good as we could during those couple days. Lori Keener
