In 1950, the Palmdale Rotary deeded the land now known as the Acton Community Club (Center) to Boy Scout Troop #145 in Acton. Because scout troops cannot own land, the Acton Community Club, Inc. was formed in 1955 to take title of the property. There was one small building, now the kitchen. From 1979 to 1988, a larger building was built by the community, with donations of money, time and labor. The arena was constructed and is maintained by the Acton Rangers. The clubhouse is the setting for a variety of events, fundraisers, weddings, anniversaries, memorial services, community and organization meetings. One of the stipulations in the Club's charter is that the building and premises be available to all youth groups in the community free of charge. This has always been the case. Later, outdoor amenities including landscaping were added. The Club
continues to be governed by a board comprised of volunteer community members.
