The new Adams County Memorial Is beautiful and so peaceful! It definitely was worth the wait, the mural they have there is amazing. Over all they did a wonderful job!
I love that the staff works hard to keep our park and wild life refuge clean and looking nice. Great paths for riding bikes, horses and hiking. Great picnic area and you have lakes and the river to try your luck. A very nice and natural Disc Golf course on the back side. Wonderful place for family and friend gatherings.
Nice fairgrounds and they do a awesome fourth of july fireworks show
Went to Adams county fairgrounds yesterday, they had a carnival and the 4-H program for kids. The children learned about goats, pigs, cows, and chickens. They had rides, games and food. Great fun for everyone especially the young ones. I took one star off due to the cost of food and games.
Adams County Fair: Wasn't a fit for us. We arrived at 10:30 am, having read on the website that the inside exhibits would be open at 10 am. We were able to look at entered paintings and quilts. What was off to me so that the pieces were not named and didn't have a blurb about their background which I've seen at other fairs. It's nice to have a little background to what inspired the artist. The larger exhibit room with 4H didn't open until noon, despite the website's posting of 10 am. The other exhibit hall had some exhibitors like a local bee club but several of those exhibits were unstaffed like the disaster response table. The bee club was hopping and interesting. Food wasn't really available, maybe one place. Customer service booth wasn't staffed at 11:30 a.m. when we left. Plenty of parking. Website said we had to pay but we didn't but maybe we were really early.
This is a great park we've been coming to for years. There are plenty of areas to fish or hang out with the family and they are adding more to it on the south side.
There is a lot to do at the fairgrounds. I love the walking trails and the lakes. You can go fishing and it is dog friendly. There was a disc golf course, but now there is construction right there. There is a gazebo and picnic area and a playground. There are a lot of neat events held here and the venues are pretty decent.
Great place for a large club gathering. They even have concessions and clean restrooms.
This was the most pathetic setup/venue I have ever seen. East and West entrances closed with no signage. It took us about 45 minutes to get into the parking lot, which was when we were surprised with a 20$ parking charge. Then we spent about one hour in linejust to get a drink. And then another 30 minutes to get into the show. Great concert ruined by an absolute disaster operationally. Will not ever return for a show at this venue.
Overall, we had a good time at the fair. There were some frustrations with the carnival automatic ticketing system that they took quite a while to resolve. Do be aware that if you attempt to purchase tickets before the carnival opens, it won't show you the option for the unlimited wristband.
