Very close to downtown Louisville. Relatively quiet, easy interstate access. Lots of places to eat and also a Starbucks close by. All gravel, level. Spaces are tight. Full hookups, including 50 Amp. Feels safe. There is a centrally located bathhouse and laundry facility. Located next to a popular pay to fish lake. Beautiful sunrise and sunset.
Very centrally located to downtown Louisville and easy access via two toll bridges. The bridge/tunnel on 265 was $2.40 if you use EZ pass or one affiliated with them. It's double without. The spot we were in was next to the office. The 6 slots by the office are nicely spaced. The rest of the park spaces are very tight! As in,,,, barely open slides or awnings close. Most of those also have someone's sewer hookup on your porch side and very close. The facilities are very well kept and clean, and our site was pretty level with a patch of grass outside our door. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The highway noise was barely heard. The lakes are not a part of the RV park but are private pay fishing lakes. There is no dog park, and outside pens and crates are not allowed. Playground: No playground although there is a large green space in front of the office building. Restrooms: Very clean, number pad access, old style private showers. Dog-friendliness: No disposal bag stations, no dog run, no outside crates, no outside pens or fencing. Picnic area: No picnic area.
This was a great stop for over night. Camp Hosts were EXCELLENT! Reserved on the phone a few hours before we arrived. Upon arrival, they showed us to our site & made sure to answer any questions. We had a pull through site which accommodated our 40ft RV & Jeep in tow. No unhook necessary. Site was gravel, but level and clean. Lots are very close, but it’s quiet & people are nice.
Great stop over for the night. Super nice host. Easy check in and guidance to our site. Our site was vey level and we did not need to unhook. The restrooms we very secure and spotless. Very close to many restaurants and stores. We would stop by again.
My husband a travel nurse and I have been here for almost six months and have loved it. The camp hosts Jeanette and Jack have been so helpful and kind. They are strict with the rules but they need to be to keep the park safe and running smoothly. They have had issues with problem dogs so that is why there are restrictions. Another review said there weren't doors on the restrooms, but that is not true. They do have doors but guests sometimes prop the doors open and the camp hosts have to go and close them. I gave it only four stars because the internet is very slow and will drop you off of the service frequently. It would also be nice if cable was available here because it is hard to get satellite reception due to all of the trees. The trees are great providers of shade so it is a trade off. There is a lovely pond and open area on the property and it is also located next to a pay lake. It is very convenient to restaurants and shopping, as well as to Louisville. We feel very blessed to have been able to stay here.
Sites were too close. Our truck was struck by another camper trying to back into his spot. It was quiet but too close together. Couldn’t extend our canopy all way out.
Ok. It’s old fashioned but still a good campground stay. The only thing is that they are not equipped to handle a 44 foot fifth wheel camper. Way to close to others.
We love this RV park. We have been here about 6 months and being new to RV living, the hosts Jack and Jeanette have taught us quite a few things about how to park, level and setup among other things. They even got us a good deal on propane to help us through the winter with a big tank setup from a local company. There is a nice lake on the grounds and a pay lake next door. We see deer, rabbits, squirrels, ducks and geese on a regular basis. This is not a park for kids really as there are no play grounds and rules for children are tight in an effort to keep the noise down, and the owners want it this way. We have dogs and trust me there is a reason for the dog rules as not all people are responsible owners. The park owners just invested lots of money in repainting the bath house, repaving the roads, redoing the gravel, and trimming lots of trees. So the review about owners not investing money in the place is not correct. Most of the people here are workers and therefore it's really quiet during the day. We have made several good friends here. Their busiest time of year is during Thunder and Derby weeks but as you can see in the pictures it still doesn't feel cramped. The issue with the service dog was related to the dog constantly barking so it was asked to leave. The only reason for 4 stars is related to the poor wifi and no cable. Also the people who are contracted to mow the grass do not do a through job. They mow way too fast and have the blades set too high and sometimes they mow when it is raining/wet which leaves ruts in the grass.
Lots are very tight. They do have over flow parking. They have shower and laundry on site as well as wifi. They help you park your RV, give helpful information. Shower rooms are closed in winter I think it is to prevent pipes from freezing. Tight space means you get blessed with hearing your neighbors vehicles when they start. My last neighbor had loud diesel that he liked to rev and idle all the time. He also like to park backed up to my living room and sit on his truck bed and be loud while he drank. They do allow mail service. Amazon delivery drivers were nice and called and dropped at my RV if office was closed. Lots of trees so a bunch of acorns and leaves dropped on my truck and the squirrels liked to play on my RV roof throughout the day. Not conducive to sleep if you work nights and try to sleep during the day when loud neighbor moved in. Very convenient to shopping and interstate.
Only 4 stars because we ended up not staying here but just had to give Jeanette recognition for her efforts. We were traveling with two 4 year olds. They and their mom typically go to the playground while dad gets the camper set up. They did not have a playground and bicycles were not allowed. Even though they were still a contender because we were only looking for an overnight site, she called me back to let me know that there was a Yogi Bear campground just 25 miles north of her that was more "kid friendly". We didn't stay there either as we decided to go a little further south before calling it a day. That was so thoughtful of her. Kudos to you Jeanette!
