It all made sense when I discovered the same people who own Preston oaks own this place too. Yikes. The bathroom doesn’t even have an outlet so you can forget using a hair dryer or charging your phone. The kitchen tiles are disgusting and there’s literally no counter to put a microwave, dish rack or to prepare food. There’s a single air conditioner so the bedrooms get unbearably hot. Only some of the units have a washer and dryer in them and the community laundry was broken for MONTHS despite asking for it to be fixed multiple times. There are roaches everywhere, the hallways are filthy and look like they’ve never been cleaned. The outside lights don’t work. Good luck actually talking to anyone or getting an answer unless you walk down to the office and even then they play dumb or act like it’s not their problem. When they do inspections, they’ll show up randomly and if you don’t answer or the door or you’re not home? They just let themselves in. Oh and if you need a replacement key, you won’t get one. Even after paying the fees. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
I’ve been a resident here for 4 years and can not wait until my lease is up this Fall. All of the 4/5 star reviews are clearly by management or employees who work in the leasing office. The building/management/maintenance didn’t used to be so bad, but things have progressively gotten worse since I’ve lived here. First, there is a SERIOUS roach/pest control problem. Management will leave notices saying that pest control will come by to spray, but it’s almost as if nothing changes or the bug problem gets worse. Second, the lobby/hallway areas are NEVER clean. They used to be cleaned on a weekly basis when I first moved into my apartment, but have gone downhill since then. Third, something is always breaking/needing to be repaired every few weeks it seems like; the hot water heater is always going out, the door handle on the side of my building has been broken for about TWO YEARS and no one has bothered to replace/fix the door/handle, my mailbox wouldn’t open or would get stuck for WEEKS at a time before someone finally fixed it, and most recently, my fridge has just stopped working. I went by the leasing office today concerning my fridge because it’s been 3/4 days since I put in the work order and it still hasn’t been replaced/fixed I have a 1 yr old that basically lives off of milk right now, which is why I’ve been pressing the issue. When I asked for an estimated date on when the fridge would be fixed/replaced, I was told they didn’t exactly know because they’re short handed on maintenance people. I was told they only have 1 maintenance man at the moment, which is crazy for an apartment complex this size. These aren’t the worst apartments I’ve ever lived in, but Addison Park is getting close.
they are charging way too much for these apartments. Ive lived here a year and there is trash every where, broken glass, hallways stink and aren't well lit. maintenance is so over worked and nothing gets done because they don't have enough people. there's roaches and you can hear things crawling in the walls. you can smell and hear every neighbor. they turn off your water with no notice multiple times. the rent does not include utilizes even though thats what they advertise. everything is super old here and run down. that picture of the hole goes into someones apartment.
This is by far the worst living experience I’ve ever had. The property manager is so unprofessional and rude. The office staffs are great liars also. There are so many issues in the apartment I live in and nothing is still done about it. When I signed my lease they said I apparently signed an inspection sheet also, which I’m completely unaware of. How do you even sign an inspection sheet without even inspecting? I asked for a copy of the inspection sheet the property manager told the staff to tell me NO. There are roaches running around the apartment. I told them the staff told me pest control comes in every Tuesday and they’ll come to my apartment, never seen them. The carpet is old and dirty, they cleaned it before I moved in but the carpet is still smelling, I’ve tried airing it out but it still smells bad. If you like good living space this is not it, the place is terrible now, it used to be okay but now it’s just a dump. Below are pictures of some of the issues I told the office about.
If it's possible I give 0 for this apartments l. The worse place to live. Management is terrible. Roaches are everywhere ,mouse's, lacking. And when I moved out they didn't give me back my deposit. Please if you have any other options don't chose this place. Everything is so bad
This is the worst apartment I have ever rented from. They are trying to charge me a $300 credit approval fee 2 months after I have moved it and signed my lease. They will not tell me why I have to pay this fee will not provide documentation to why I have this extra fee on top of my deposit i already paid. My credit score is in excellent condition. Their maintenance requests are never fixed I was within heat for a month during February. They are unprofessional and trying to scam you and break the law. Never move here.
Long time resident ! Mire la is the best person I have ever met. she has been working in Addison Park for a long time and she remains the best. the rest of the staff is incompetent, very harsh, they talk badly to people and make mistakes and then put the blame on you, supposedly you have to pay such amount without explanation. The apartment is not bad but the management of the apartment must be reviewed and especially the change of staff is very important. I have many of my colleagues who live and all are full of the behavior of the managers
These photos are from all different occasions. Any residents who see this, please call the housing department and report the apartments! These are not acceptable conditions to live in. This apartment needs to be written up continuously until these issues are fixed. You pay for garbage to be up-kept, don’t let them pocket your money.
2 YR UPDATE: DONT DO IT!! The rent went up so much but the buildings are in awful condition. Strongly doubt they’ve ever been up to any sort of health and safety code. We’ve had the shower roof fall in twice, gaps between windows and doors, brown water coming out of every faucet, and several building wide bug infestations. Additionally since switching ownership the office staff 1. Doesn’t answer the phone 2. Leaves early so forget having any set office times it’s pretty much a guessing game if someone’s in there or not their lunch goes from 10am - close 3. Are incredibly rude and unhelpful and to top it off when they switched owners it was 1 day before rent was due and they didn’t send anybody the new portal info and we had to pay additional fees to cover for their lack of readiness. This place is awful and they charge hella $$$ to break a lease bc they know it! Pros & Cons On the pro side the staff is very friendly and helpful especially Mirela! It’s a pretty fast and easy process to lease here, however there are some cons. There was a bit of a communication hiccup that was resolved promptly, it’s been 3 weeks since we moved in and still haven’t received our mail key or an idea as to when we will get it, and some of the “fixes” are a bit questionable but overall the pros outweigh the cons imo!
Worst customer service!! I was just helping out a friend to apply to this apartments and is been a headache the receptionist Fatima has been really rude and not much as a help. We have filled everything out and replied back to emails but she continues saying that she has not received any emails.
