What a great experience to be at the last NHRA event in Topeka. Really great track that is well kept and the parking was close enough to go back and forth to cool down or do your tailgating at while still making it to see races!! Hopefully the city and the track owners can work something out to keep this place alive e for the public!!
My first visit and the last NHRA event at Heartland , what a gem of the motorsports world. Topeka will rue the day that they let this event slip away. Top fuel is a whole body experience and I feel fortunate that I was finally able to experience one at HP.
Fun night…sad to see 2 wrecks but the staff and help did an outstanding job!!! Well done
If you would have left the NHRA in the spring and in the fall, Topeka Kansas would still be number one! You can't have drag racing in 100°, the cars don't perform, and nobody wants to be in that heat. I'm sure attendance was down, but no one's going to sit in 100°. It's a shame to lose such a wonderful event and event venue! We'll miss The House of Speed.
As someone in a wheelchair, I can tell you accessible parking is a joke. They made us park in the grass behind a rock parking lot, yeah it was real fun to navigate that in a manual chair. The event was great and fun, but parking and the highway robbery of $3/bottle of water is insane.
We had a blast at country Stampede and will be going back next year
Loved every minute of racing at this venue! From top to bottom it's a state of the art facility, with plenty of bleacher style seating, vip seating and even boxes. Prepare to walk though, free spectator parking is literally a mile walk away from the pits. Good vendors, average food and drink prices for a racing event. Just a great time all around!
Terrible set up. We couldnt believe in the summer heat they had so little food and water for the crowd. Lines were 40 minutes long everywhere. People were dehydrated and seeking medical attention and all they needed was a few large tents with some more stands with easy sell and grab water bottles and snacks. The management obviosly didnt care about the health and safety of the crowd. There was nowhere to cool off and if you were close to passing out you had no place to go and couldnt get fluids if you wanted to. They easily could have misters in places to cool off and even could have them in the stands. This facility is nowhere as good as Pomona in California and Im surprised they havent gotten sued for having such poor supplies for their audience in the past.
OMG what an amazing experience!! I did a track day here and fell in love with it. The people are amazing to ride with and ask questions. They are willing to help in any area they can. Hector is very open and communicative about everything you need to know and do. If you're thinking about running a lap check him out, he'll walk you through the process.and remember !! Happy Google's my friends!
