Dr. Kim and his excellent team are a model of skill, professionalism, and compassion. I can’t recommend them enough. I have dealt with a fear of dentists my entire adult life which caused some issues I could no longer ignore beginning in December of ‘22. Dr. Kim and his team worked with me to mitigate my fears and are extremely understanding of my ongoing anxiety. With their care I have gone from needing anxiety medication and a ride to their office to the ability to drive myself to appointments. Procedures at Dr. Kim’s office have benefitted me greatly - two crowns and several cleanings. They explain what they are doing and why, and take the time to be sure I’m comfortable while performing world class care.
MIRACLE DENTIST Dr. Kim My family and I have known Dr Kim as our family dentist for 15 years. I am now 79 years young and having root canals redone, tooth extraction and 7 new crowns. This has been a very technical and tedious procedure over several visits. Each one lasting atleast 3to 4 hours. Dr Kim has a surgical room with equipment that would rival a hospital operating room. The most impressive part of the practice is Dr Kim himself. He is overly qualified so can not be called just a dentist. He is and has always continued going back to school to qualify in all the latest procedures available.Dr Kim is the only dentist that I will trust to do all the work he is now doing for me. His staff is so caring and professional. You have no fears in his office because they are practicing every form of sanitizing. The office is over seen by a special lady called Helen that goes out of her way to walk you through scheduling, insurance and followup. What ever your dental needs, feel safe and secure in Dr Kim's hands. The best part of my on going procedure is the careand concern to my comfort and well-being. I highly recommend Dr Kim and his staff. All my friends that I recommended only have the highest praise for him. In this day and age Dr Kim is number one on my list.
I have been a patient of Dr. Sonny Kim for over 20 years in Reston Virginia and I highly recommend him and his office. His office staff are always helpful and friendly, and Helen Kim works hard with insurance companies to negotiate down my out-of-pocket cost. Christy has been my dental hygienist for years and is always friendly and attentive. Over the years I've had multiple crowns and have seen the dedication Dr. Kim has to keeping up with the latest technology. My first crown was temporary, and now I can walk out the same day with a permanent crown. When I had an emergency and called after hours, Dr. Kim called me back within a half hour and got me first thing the next day. 10 years ago, when I experienced a panic attack during a procedure he and his staff helped me recover. I appreciate his dedication to his craft and his bedside manner has improved over the years, but I put that down to his focus on doing his job with complete dedication. I really appreciate the follow up calls after any procedure to see how I'm doing. I recently got a mouth guard and received a call from Helen the next day to see how my first night was. That is an experience I've never had with any other doctor's office. I highly recommend Dr. Kim and his office.
I started going to Dr. Sonny Kim at Advanced Family Dentistry in 2019 and was pleased right from the start. My first dental cleaning by the hygienist was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist’s office. In early 2021, I needed a crown and for the dentist to repair a couple of old fillings. I was nervous and worrying about potential discomfort. I was amazed with the skill that Dr. Kim demonstrated. He is knowledgeable and excellent at what he does! He is also honest and reliable. He will tell you what needs to be done now and what can wait before performing any dental procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Kim for ALL dental needs. My husband and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
My family has gone to Dr. Kim for over 20 years. He is a great dentist! He is always up to date on the latest techniques and is continually pursuing new training and education. He is meticulous and thoughtful in treating complex dental issues. I love his dental hygienist who is very gentle. I do not normally make recommendations, but I have already recommended Dr. Kim to friends and neighbors who have also been very pleased with his professional service. Dr. Kim does crowns and root canals. The best part is with his digital printer, he can make you a crown on the spot--no waiting for a lab! He does not suggest unnecessary work and I trust him to do a good job and take good care of me and my family.
I have never written a testimonial for a dentist. Dr. Kim is a very professional and a highly-skilled doctor. Going to the dentist can be intimidating. After consulting with him, I felt at ease allowing him to do the necessary work. I have had no complications. The office is very clean and they use the newest equipment. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Kim for all your dentistry needs.

Dr. Kim has been my dentist for almost 20 years! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my teeth! He is a thorough, caring and very experienced dentist! His whole office is wonderful caring people and makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Dr. Kim has been my dentist for the past 4 years. I would highly recommend him to anyone in search of a dentist that is thorough, gentle, works in a timely manner and genuinely care about your heath. He as done work from cavities, periodontal cleaning, root canal re-treatment, and wisdom teeth removal. He has also done my daughters braces and he cares for my whole family. He has excellent credentials and his whole staff is wonderful from front desk to billing to hygienist and assistants.
My family has been going to Dr. Kim's office for 20+ years. About 15 years ago we moved an hour and a half away and still continue to see Dr. Kim because we receive such quality care it's worth the travel time. Over the years we've noticed how Helen, his wife and office manager, knows the patients personally and is mindful of them individually. Dr. Kim is dedicated to his craft, keeping up on the latest procedures and technology which has built our trust and confidence in him through the many different procedures our family has had to have done. We look forward to seeing the hygienists for regular cleaning because they are gentle and genuinely kind people. We highly recommend Dr. Kim's office for a good experience with any dental needs!
