Got an accident needed a rental, the at fault insurance sent me here… The agent at the counter was friendly and got me the car that I needed, I wouldn’t say its perfect lol She answered the questions I had and send me on my way It was in the winter, she did realize there is no tool for me to clean off the snow so she went back to grab me snow brush! the car only has half of gas tank, wish it was full! they are willing to drop me off/pick up the car at the car repair center overall, it wasn’t bad
Hertz can do better. I booked an EV for a weekend rental. I was told the first car had an issue so they were finding me a different one. No problem and the wait was not that long. When I was given the "replacement" vehicle. I did my walk around and the car was dirty but again not too much of a problem. However when I sat inside this vehicle interior was filthy. The cup holder was caked with gunk. No floor mats in the front or back seats, the seats had crumbs in them and the headliners were dirty all around. I spoke with the rep and showed her and she said she would make sure to "take care of some of the bill" because they will be closed when I return it. Great. When I start the vehicle a message for an update pops on the screen and she tells me don't do the update Hertz will do it later. I take the vehicle anyway. Later that night at 12:30am the vehicle does the update automatically. This caused me to have to wait 30+ mins in the middle of the night to drive. Making me feel not safe. Lastly there was no regular slow charger in the vehicle..... When I called Hertz no answer at the local number and when I got a hold of someone at Hertz Corp I was told I did indeed receive a discount of $10 for Uber credit. $10 was not close to the amount needed for the multiple issues with this rental.
I am shock at my experience here. The unprofessionalism is UNREAL. When we called in interested in buying a car listed on the site, Mike - the sales rep, seemed really nice. After driving 2 hours to get to the dealership, we met with Mike. Still seemed very pleasant at this point. While Mike was grabbing the plate for us so that I could test drive the car, we gave the vehicle a thorough look-over. When Mike asked what I thought of the car, I informed him that I liked the color of the car and shared that we were just making a note of some minor dents and scratches. He seemed quite offended by our observations, huffed about it and grumbled something along the lines of, “if you want to buy it, fill out the application .. WHATEVER “ as he stomped away from us, taking the plate back with him. We stood there in disbelief at this interaction we just had with Mike. As I stated, the issues I identified on the car were minor. They would not have been deal breakers for me, but what IS a deal breaker is Mike’s rude and awful behavior! We OBVIOUSLY walked away after this.
Really a bad place to rent a car. The staff just don’t know what they doing. They make a bunch of calls without solvent the problem. Very slow process. There’s 10 people ahead of me and I’m sitting here for the las hour and nobody is moving.
Joshua is a great Assets for this place . He listened very patiently my all questions , took care all my queries and also resolved the need of a car in urgency. Uber Hertz department should recognize such amazing , hard working and professional employee at this Desplaines il location. Thanks Prashant shiv
Horrible service. I set up a rental a few days ago, and needed to pick it up today. I already confirmed the time the other day. 1 hour before I am supposed to pick the car up, I receive an email to confirm my time of pickup and it says "Please choose a date 24hrs from now". Even after I already confirmed my pickup the other day. I called their business a total of 10 times over an hour and never spoke with anyone. It would ring for a few minutes then end the call. Nobody is working the phones. Terrible business practices and terrible system that forgets you confirmed a car pickup already. I will never be using Hertz again in my life and I suggest anyone reading this to stay away as well.
Earl and Mark were efficient when checking in and out. I was reluctant to rent based on the reviews, but my experience was good. My car sounded like it needed new brakes from the start and needed to be cleaned a bit. Overall, I was happy with the vehicle and experience.
I rented a car from hertz for 2 years through the Uber/Lyft program. I paid $1447/month for the rental. Hertz sold the vehicle without my knowledge and repossessed the vehicle without any phone calls, text, or email notifications until less than 24 hours of the car being taken. I am being told that I cannot rent again because I failed to renew my lease a week after receiving the vehicle. This is faulty because as a Lyft/Uber driver, they write on our rental agreement the date that we come back in to renew. I was not supposed to be back to renew until August 2023 and proceeded to sale the vehicle. I am now being told I cannot rent and they have NOT given me back my $509 deposit. I have been charged $422.47 for the week AFTER they took the vehicle an even though they closed the contract before the new week began. I am constantly being given the run around by Hertz Billing and Danny the MANAGER at Hertz HLE Des Plaines to the point where my calls are no longer being answered DANNY THE MANAGER is leaving me on read in text messages. I literally can see the time he reads my messages and he fails to either read it correctly and give me helpful information or just not respond all together. . At this point, I’ve been out of a vehicle and a job for almost a month because of HERTZ greediness. If I don’t hear from someone soon, I will be taking measures in pursuing a class act lawsuit because I can tell you for a fact that
LET ME TELL YOU THE STRESS I FELT RENTING A CAR HERE AFTER READING THESE REVIEWS. But this was easiest car rental I’ve ever done, and I got a Tesla at a very reasonable rate. I arrived a little after 8 am and I was out by 8:30. I rented a “manager’s special” random car lottery where the car I got was based on what was available that day via Expedia and after a flight, a long drive from the airport and settling down into bed and checking the address, I came across a slew of negative reviews that all seem to be from a month ago. After doom scrolling for over an hour I went to sleep anxious that this would a long, grueling start to my day. This place is under new management as of 3 weeks agoand I was in and out in under 20 minutes. I was so scared they wouldn’t have a car ready for me after booking online but the RELIEF I felt when the manager almost immediately said “we’re pulling your Tesla up now” after I checked in. Give this place a chance.
This whole process was a disaster. Employees don’t communicate with each other and it’s super hard to get someone on the phone.. It really took a turn with the drop off. Which was a Friday I was Charged $70 for gas when I filled the tank before returning. The employee told me it should be refunded back to my account by Tuesday/ Wednesday of the coming week. If it wasn’t I was able to reach out to a higher up. He gave me a phone number. Fast forward to Thursday and still no refund. I call the number given to me and it’s the Supervisor’s PERSONAL NUMBER. I had no idea. She wasn’t sure nicest about the situation either. And guess what- no one told her I needed to be refunded so she’s going to have to dig deeper. 70 may not be much to someone but that is a good chunk to be charged for NO REASON. Hurtz make this right….
