This is a great hospital. Inpatient experience was beyond expectations. The nursing team went above and beyond in helping me deal with the complications of my surgery. And this during a hurricane. My outpatient experience was just as awesome. The scheduling team went out of their way to make my studies timely. What a great experience. I am looking for a new health plan and I assure you it must include the option of care at your facility.
We toured the facility at their Grand Opening, and were astounded at how beautiful it is. What was most important was seeing the total professionalism of the staff on site and the up to the minute equipment that is used in treatment. We plan on having Advent Health care for us for the rest of our journey through life and are so grateful to have such a state of the art facility less than 10 minutes from our home. It doesn't get any better than that!! Thank you so very much and GOD BLESS...
Care was good, however the staff in my humble opinion is over burdened. Not enough nurses and assistants to check on patients in a timely manner. The doctors also apparently have lots of patients and can’t spend much time with family or spouses. I understand they, along with their nursing staff are very busy with lots of patients. However, overall, a good outcome for my wife.
Long ER wait for elderly mother with significant bedsore and incontinence. No assistance was give for a patient who cannot walk, change themselves and was in significant pain. Subsequent care upon admittance was positive. The nurses and staff were very pleasant and generally helpful. The doctors were appropriately reactive. The discharge was negative but it may have been on the part of the rehab facility stating they had services and capabilities that they did not. If you have a loved one being released to rehabilitation make sure that what the hospital says the rehab facility has available for your loved one is in fact available for your loved one before agreeing to the discharge. The outpatient wound care team is amazing. They are the best! Advent is lucky to have them.
The Hospital was super clean, the staff are nice & kind, the Dr's & nurses were very attentive, caring and supportive during my stay. We were "sheltered in place" because of the last hurricane after my surgery, but it did not effect the high level of care I received and my husband was given permission to stay over with me. Thank you for the positive experience throughout my in-patient stay!
I felt safe and in good hands at Advent. Everyone who came into my room introduced themselves with a smile and explained what they were there to do. When they would leave my room they would Each ask if there was anything they could do or get for me. All my adult children felt their questions were well answered. I was there through New Years and one adorable, bubbly nurse I forgot her name came in to my room at 12:00AM and took my arm I was up and said, “come - on, we have to jump together, out of 2022 and into 2023.” I was just so pleased she thought of me at that time. My adult children were on FaceTime with me and were glad to hear I was “celebrating” with this nurse. They felt sad I was alone in the hospital for the New Year and had even cancelled a party. I was also pleasantly surprised with the meals that was served. The food was good - like home cooking!! I ate better there than I do in my own home! If I didn’t miss my two little dogs so much I would not have been so eager to return home. Advent Health of Daytona Beach is a great place for healing, emotionally as well as physically!!
I started out in the ER and ended up in ICU. Every single person from check in and the ER to the ICU and back to the regular floor was so wonderful. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Not one person made me feel uncomfortable or like I was being too much of a pain. They all took such good care of me and I am so grateful. Nobody wants to be in the hospital and it was not something I ever wanna do again. But the people made it bearable.
This is hard to rate... Love this hospital people are awesome... I have the best Doctor!!! They did a super awesome job taking care of me... Only problem I had was they lost my clothes bag with my brand new very expensive shoes in it. Never occurred to me to wear cheap clothes or shoes since I have never had a hospital loose my belongings There was obviously a miscommunication with the nurse that helped me. She said I'll take your clothes with you to your room... I said ok that's fine.. so agreement was made... I don't understand why she went back to my mother and asked about the clothes... My mother thought she was talking about the extra bag in the car and told the nurse that I had a bag of clothes in the car. They never found the bag with the clothes I took off... I almost put my phone and glasses in that bag so glad I didn't that would have been a nightmare. So my advice don't where good clothes, you may not get them back. This would be 5***** had they not lost my belongings.
Overall I would give Advent high marks, but there is a serious continuing problem with their management and administration -- that goes beyond Daytona. Their billing system -- although supposedly new -- is anything but user friendly. The office in Lake Mary can't schedule so that patients aren't waiting for more than an hour for appointments -- because apparently they don't book time according to what the appointment is: regular visit vs procedure, etc. So in my opinion, their management chain needs an overhaul. The doctors are wonderful.
Both Dr Arab and Dr Desai were great. It was a challenging procedure and met the challenge. The team that supported them also did an excellent job. I was well informed prior to the surgery and after the surgery. They kept my wife informed during the surgery. I would strongly recommend this cardiac team. They are the best!!!
