About the African Art Foundation
The African Art Foundation is a Christian based organization that fosters personal and financial independence for African artists and entrepreneurs. Our philosophy is based on Romans 15:17-21:
A letter from Paul to the Gentiles:
So I boast in Christ Jesus about the things that pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in order to bring about the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem even as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation, but as it is written:
“Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
The AAF is a "for profit" organization. Our intent is to build the AAF as a viable business to support the African people who work within the organization, the artists who contribute their works of art and the communities in which all of these people live.
So when you purchase art from the African Art Foundation, you are not only getting incredible African art at a great value, you are also contributing to the economic infrastructure that will sustain these African families and help them to be truly self sufficient. We have a grand plan for this organization and what we can accomplish.
The revenue generated by the AAF is used to:
* Pay African artist entrepreneurs for their work.
* Pay the African employees of the AAF (currently only the managing director, Namanya Evalisto).
The profit from the AAF is used to:
* Grow the business
* Provide small micro-loans to fund new African businesses
* Provide small educational grants for African students
* Provide training on living life according to Biblical scripture
