I joined Against the Ropes six months ago, and it has been a life changing decision! I have become stronger physically with emphasis on toning and strengthening my core. It has worked out so well here because Coach Ken takes the time to work with you on a personal basis anytime you arrive to workout. He really cares about personal development and keeping a positive attitude in our hectic lives. For the first time I have made a gym workout a pleasure to my day! I have grown stronger mentally and it helps in all things that I do, especially in running a small business. This is not just any gym, it is a one of a kind experience for those who want to be the best they can be! It starts here!
Coach Ken and Coach Steve are the best. Coach Ken has always had time for me. Covid caused him to have to change the hours of open Gym to 5:00. That ended up being a difficult time for me so after talking with him about it... he decided to start the open gym at 3:00 which is perfect for me. This showed me that he cared enough about his clients that he was willing to listen and make the changes I needed. I will eventually be moving out of state but until then I will continue to do my boxing at Against the Ropes Gym... thanks Coach Ken!!
What an amazing gym to be a part of. Family friendly atmosphere with unbelievable supportive people. Everyone is family here and everyone helps motivate each other. This gym is for everyone, every age and every fitness level. After your first class you will feel like you belong there. Great high intense work outs that are changing everyday. This gym works your body as well as your mind! Definitely recommend stopping in!
This gym has not only made me physically stronger, but has made me mentally sharper as well. The mindset and skills that I have learned from this gym transfer over into my everyday life. I feel more comfortable in my own body as well as noticing the quality of my life has increased 2 if not 3 times. I can not say enough good things about coach Ken Curtis either, he is a great man not only for getting you in shape but also great to talk with about life. If you are looking for a home away from home, a new family, and a place to further yourself this is the gym for you!
Coach Ken really cares about the people in the gym he always has time for personal instruction.. He takes the journey with you ,whatever your goals are he will help you obtain them. The gym is just a mirror image of,his belief in hard work, clean living and dedication and it pays off. the Gym is built on love and friendship no ego's here. if you want to get in shape, meet people and gain life values while having fun come meet the New age Zen Master. We will be waiting for you
Against The Ropes is a fantastic gym where you can get a real good work out! Everyone there is so friendly and encouraging, it's like your part of a family. Coach Ken is an amazing coach and person that cares about everyone that walks through the gym doors. Come to Against The Ropes, you won't regret it!!
I'm Cindy I've been going to against the ropes for awhile now it is awesome! It has helped with losing inches, weight, improving mental skills, lessening depression and anxiety and SO much more, it's a family there the coach truly cares. If you looking for a positive new life style please come check us out no judgement at this gym only encouragement! Hope to see you there!!
I began at Against the Ropes Boxing Gym on December 12, 2016. I was in the midst of recovering from a work-related back injury, had been physically out of commission and in constant pain for over two months. I was taking pain medication constantly, was depressed and had gained almost twenty pounds on top of being overweight. Now, in a little more than 3 months, I am pain free, off any and all medications, have lost 27.8 lbs, have gained muscle, slimmed down from a size 16 to a size 12 and most importantly, have made friends, gained a dream, vision, self-discipline, self-commitment, and self-confidence. If you are looking for a gym with a family atmosphere where you will be pushed to succeed in the gym and more importantly in life-than Against the Ropes is perfect for you. Be prepared to invest in yourself, sweat, work hard, and succeed. See you there!
I started boxing at ATR in April of last year, I was the last person that I thought would ever go to a boxing gym. It has been the best decision I have ever made. I am in the best shape I have been in decades. The coach is very focused and holds you accountable, but if you give it a chance you will love the gym, the people and yes even the coach. So stop reading this head up to ATR and sign up... it will be the best decision you have made this year.
I haven't been a member very long, but I intend to be. If you want a gym that'll take you in, push, motivate, teach, train, and work on your goals, then you've found your home. The coach is down to earth, the students all want to help make everybody better. It's a very positive environment. The question is what's your excuse to not come check it out?
