Age of Steam Memorial - ICRR 2500 Steam Engine on static display in Centralia, IL
Welcome to our site, where the steam era of railroading is preserved and promoted by railfans like you. Our main attraction is the Illinois Central Railroad 2500 steam engine, which is kept on permanent display in Fairview Park, Centralia, Illinois.
We are a small but dedicated team of volunteers who have looked after the 2500 ever since she was saved from the scrap heap in 1962. We’ve provided many tours, answered many questions, and shared many stories with fellow steam enthusiasts over the years, and we’d be happy to hear from you as well.
Dedicated to preserving the era of steam railroading for future generations.
