Kenric Brooks Sr. retired from the United States Army in May 2015 after 20 years of dedicated service in leadership roles during peacetime, military operations and combat. During his years of dedication to our nation, Ken served in roles of increasing responsibility, including Director of the Army's only Communications Management Support Team charged with providing protective communications support to the Joint Director of Military Support and the United States Secret Service for Presidential Campaign support and special missions.
When he transitioned into retirement, Ken continues to build a legacy that is devoted to leadership and community service. Ken is the founder of Agile Leadership Institute & Center of Excellence. Ken also resides in Rockville, Maryland and serves as an Executive Committee Member for the Rockville Science Center, a Committee Member on the Montgomery County Community Development Advisory Committee, Commissioner for the Rockville Housing Enterprise, Board of Directors for the District 17 Democratic Club, and Vice President of Rockville Rotary Club. Having a high value for community engagement and organizational leadership has led his desire to positively impact and inspire our future generation of leaders who will answer the call to community service. Ken envisions and supports the development of progressive communities through local camaraderie – mutual trust and friendships among people who spend a lot of time together. Through his team oriented military philosophy, Ken seeks to narrate and support the planned growth of small and medium businesses. Ken believes that local governments have the potential to target growth and progression by focusing on the enhancement of small business operations and making them an engine of our communities.
Ken is dedicated to championing a plethora of causes and services for our veterans. His leadership philosophy dictates People First. He believes that empathy, empowerment, opportunity, and perseverance have guided him through his life and these values will be instrumental in ensuring that our communities provide adequate services that can be leveraged by our veterans.
Ken earned his undergraduate degree in Management and an MBA in International Management. He is currently presuing his Ph.D. in Business Management. Ken is author of Building The Team. Agile Leadership Institute uses 5 principles when evaluating and developing training to add value to our customers.
(1) Support: We offer support to the business departments and teams. This is by providing subject matter experts to facilitate learning.
(2) Guidance: We use industry standards, methodologies, tools and knowledge repositories to analyze talent, processes, and logistical operations to fill business need.
(3) Shared Learning: We use training and certifications, skill assessments, team building and formalized roles to encourage shared learning within business.
(4) Measurements: We deliver value and results through the use of output metrics.
(5) Governance: Allocating limited resources (money, people, etc.) across all business is an important function. We ensure organizations invest in the most valuable projects and create economies of scale for our service offering. In addition, coordination across other corporate interests is needed to enable us to deliver value.
