Agora is a retail community of small businesses under one roof in the heart of downtown Harrisonburg. It offers small retail spaces to artisans, crafters, and entrepreneurs and provides a unique shopping destination.
***Every First Friday of the month we will stay open until 8:00 pm.***
Agora Downtown Market is a large retail space full of opportunity for artisans, creative entrepreneurs, and craftsmen in the heart of Historic Downtown Harrisonburg. We are at the epicenter of the City's booming resurgence and the home of Virginia's first Arts & Cultural District and only Culinary District.
We are located at 165 South Main Street in the Wine Bros. building, above Ruby’s Arcade, beside Clementine and across the street from Massanutten Regional Library & the Explore More Discovery Museum. We are also diagonal of the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center. This is a beautiful old building that has been completely updated and remodeled. The space is 7,000 square feet in total with brand new bathrooms, windows, heating and cooling, flooring, ceiling, etc.
We opened on June 1st, 2017. We are still looking for three more small businesses to make Agora Downtown Market their new home! Agora Downtown Market is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am – 6 pm. Each business will have their own space with their own employee(s) and cash register. Each space has a yearly lease. The cost would be $17 a square foot per year; this includes water, electricity, trash pickup, flood insurance, property tax, common space, Hawk Security system, and cleaning/maintenance of the building.
