Captain John is a wonderful tour guide! He made sure the ride was enjoyable and had a great sense of humor the whole ride. He was highly knowledgeable about everything we saw on the trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone interested in exploring Florida’s wildlife!
That was a cool experience. Gators stay mostly in the water by their nests this time of the year, but still a cool and informative experience. Good captain.
Wow! I had a big group of friends from out of town coming down and booked the Marsh Beast. Our group of 13 fit comfortably. It was a freezing day but we bundled up & the boat was equipped with tarp blankets. Luckily, it made for great alligator sighting and all of the big and small gators were out getting sun. The boat offered headsets so captain Johnny could tell us about the history of the land and habitat. He pointed out many interesting birds along the way. I can not recommend this tour & Johnny enough and would definitely go back!
The airboat ride was well worth the money. Our guide was very informative and made it a very fun trip. We got to see plenty of gators and a lot of nesting in birds, and various wildlife throughout the lake and the grassy growth and weeds on the lake.
I have been on several Airboat tours, twice with Wilderness Rides. Both times I have seen so many more gators than on any other tour mostly Miami area, and especially the last time which was epic insofar as we got to even see baby gators! The various captains also highlight the many birds inhabiting the reserve. This is a highly recommended tour for anyone who wants the "Glades experience." Do not hesitate to book this tour! Also ask about the various discounts at restaurants located in Fellsmere that you're entitled to for taking the tour...
Awesome experience! Captain John did a great job of finding gators, over 10 during our ride, and describing & explaining all the wild life we encountered. Best airboat ride we've ever taken!
We took family visiting from out of town on an airboat tour with Airboat Wilderness Rides and we were on Marsh Beast with Captain Johnny. We had a great time. The boat was in good condition and seemed very safe. Prior to boarding, he wiped off every headset with disinfecting cloths. Johnny was a great guide. He combined historical information about the area, detailed information about the plants and wildlife we saw and kept it lively with added humor. We were able to see between 6-8 gators swimming and a few let him get pretty close. He also took us by an area to see a nesting gator protecting her eggs. We saw numerous osprey nests and osprey up pretty close. I highly recommend Marsh Beast and Captain Johnny. You could tell in the beginning he was working hard to find some big gators, since that is what everyone is out there to see after finding several, he started to show us more of the lake and marsh to give a complete experience.
We had an absolute amazing experience on the Airboat Wilderness Ride. Our captain, Johnny, was very knowledgeable about the area and it’s history and did an great job of finding different wildlife to observe. Thanks again for the experience.
