Airline High School is EXTREMELY biased toward many of the students that attend. Unless you are rich and participate in the more popular organizations are this school you are insignificant. The principals push their beliefs on anyone they want and often times put students in awkward positions. You only succeed at this school if you comply to the societal norms set in place at this school. Any creativity at this school dies quickly. Never have I seen so many teenagers so mentally affected than Airline. Several teachers are not qualified to teach let alone watch after kids for hours a day. It is easy to get lost in the glamour and appeal that Airline manages to project through the sports programs and outlandish reports of success told through the administration. Avoid this school! It NOT rowing-it is sinking.
This is the place open-minded, compassionate, non-homophobic, big dreamers go to die. I wouldn't recommend this town in general, but as far as schooling goes, you would be doing yourself and/or your child a huge disservice. The education is heavily one-sided, religion is literally shoved down student's throats and long-term advancement beyond the average scope is limited. BUT I have to be fair and acknowledge there are some pretty cool, intelligent teachers who have changed my life forever such as the Finimores, Mr. Pedrotty, Mrs. Stevenson & the beloved retiree, Mrs. Carroll. Excluding my own terrible encounters with the students and their strong southern ideologies, no matter how good it may look on the outside, there are kids going through hell on the inside.
I Love My School As Far Religion These People Do Love God. I Have Never Seen Them Disrespect Anyone's Religion. The Teachers Here Are Amazing And More Than Willing To Help Your Child Succeed. Don't Over Look Airline You Won't Find A Great School Like It. Principal Rowland Love Us All And Believes In Us And Our Ability.
Through my years of moving and experiencing different schools, this has to be the worst. The school has no respect for the separation of church and state and is extremely biased. The Extra curriculars are decent but because of the school's club day policy, some are only able to meet once a month. The worst part about this prision is the strict dress code and in efficient guidelines this school has for behavior. The school has a zero tolerance policy for Fighting, which means each student will be put in handcuffs and suspended no matter the cause "just to be safe" The dress code is a complete disaster, sucking the individuality out of the students. This school is not the perfect little high school of suburbia it's made out to be
As a former student of Airline I have to say that this is a school for everyone. As a college student who has taken many honors and advaced classes I have to say the teachers at this school have mostly prepared me for colllege. Although the staff due tend to be forceful on the rules. In today's society that's what most should be looking for in a school. I do believe there is growth for everyone at this school. I most believe you have to be rich, on the football team, or Christian to fit in here but I have to say it's the opposite. The school does have a Christian theme to it I'm not going to lie but you have the choice to believe in what you believe in and not judge others on what they believe. I personally in high school was involved in JROTC. I have made many friends with this program and I have enjoyed every moment of it. But people who say you have to been in a certain group in order to make friends are far from the truth. I made friends that were on the football team, cheerleaders, teachers, and a range of other students. There are to many students here not to make a lot of friends. In all its a 5-A school with 5-A problems but compared to other schools I'm quite glad I went here and made the friends that I did and learned what I learned here. I recommend airline every chance that I can and so far no one I recommend it to has complained.
Horrible school. Nobody should have to suffer through 4 years at such a biased school. The disciplinary system at this school is complete trash and they honestly do not care about their students. If you even breathe wrong at this school they will write you up. I wish i could give it half a star or less. As a senior take my advice and avoid this school.
Went to Airline High School from 1980 to 1984 20th anniversary year for AHS; and all my years there were great, especially my ring ding, free driver education and graduation in the auditorium!!! And now after 14 1/2 years of giving birth to my boy, he will be going to Airline High, following in my alma mater footsteps 38 years later!!!!
Public high school that insists on advocating christianity. Students here are bombarded with bible verses, taught creationism in biology and learn about the "evils" of contaceptives in sex ed. They claim to have freedom of religion, but I guess that only really counts when it's their religion.
Great High School to attend if you live in the bossier parish area. teachers are great, students are very friendly. everything is so organized
this school honestly do not care about your black kids, they just want to make themselves look good to the public eye. <<<<<
