This is an interesting golf course. The front nine is fairly flat with the back nine more challenging with a creek in play on several holes. Th greens were super slow to put on. They looked good but it was hard for all four of us to get the ball to the hole. The crab grass is taking over some of the fairways It is cheap to walk and having the small airport adjacent to the course gave us some entertainment with some of the private jets taking off and landing. The landing lights are on the course property but not in play.
Course was nice. Staff was awful. First time playing here, waiting to tee off on the first hole. Place is already backed up as evident by previous tee time still being on tee box at our tee time. The old man who was working at the register came out and yelled at my group because we didn't tee off while the group in front of us was just walking up to the green. His exact remark "what are you going to drive the green?" We then proceeded to wait to tee off on every single hole. Back 9 took us 3 hours to finish. The old guys need to learn better course management skills. Not sure what the point of playing up someone's behind is when you're just going to sit out on the course and wait the entire time. Get there and play early. If you arrive past 10am it's already backed up and the old guys working will take out their frustrations on you instead of the people who are holding the entire course up. The entire place wrecked of marijuana too. That's cool and all but you can't just be holding up the course because you're "high". Only cool thing was the occasional planes flying overhead
Walked the front nine. Course was in great shape. They let us play after two days of rain. The greens were slow because all the rain but were fun to play. Not as difficult as other courses with 30 degree slope. Great fun and great scores. Can’t wait to play it again!
A nice course for more inexperienced golfers. The course is shorter in length but does offer some unique challenges as the course features several dogleg left par 4’s on the front 9. The par 5 12th is a great challenge with its narrow fairway and tight window on your second and third shot. The beer options are reasonable and they feature seltzers as well. The grilled cheese may take a few extra minutes to make but it’s delicious. Pricing is similar to places in the area!
This course allowed carts when it shouldn't have because it was so wet with water laying everywhere. There is very little cart path, which left the carts making deep tire marks. They also put several twosomes on the 10th hole in-between us even though they knew were we already playing 18.
Good course that is well maintained! However, customer service is PATHETIC, very unprofessional and snobby. Management and approach with customers needs to be a lot better. Young golfers should not use this course. Agest business practices.
Shame on Airport Greens for not letting a 7 year old who has played at this course several times by the way on the course with his step-father at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. Get over yourselves…this course clearly doesn’t have any interest in “growing the game” This cow-pasture will never get a dime of my money again, and I’ll make sure every contact I have in NOGA, NOPGA, and First Tee of Cleveland knows of this experience.
A very nice neighborhood course, but on the pricey side for what it offers. 18 holes with cart was $41 a full $7 more expensive than the nearby, better designed and more nicely-kept metroparks courses of Shawnee and manakiki. Staff is pretty friendly so long as you're patient. Though, the course management makes interesting choices. My tee time was at 9:10 on a Saturday, so near peak hours. Yet, the grounds crew was out cutting grass on hole 1, trimming the fringe near the green. And later on the back 9, same issue: grounds keepers cutting grass on hole 12. Now, the work has to get done... But why would you ever do it during peak hours on a Saturday, especially when Friday was a dry and slower day? Also, several of the greens are in very poor condition. Every green has aeration holes, which one could expect in early may... But several greens -- notably 17 an 18 -- had large, 2-3" diameter *holes* in several locations. Not divots, not ball marks, but 2-3" deep holes. In all, Airport Greens is a great, easy, beginner friendly course. I've played here many times, and will be back many more. For the money, you would most likely be better served at Shawnee, Manakiki, or even Briardale. But when their tee times are full up all weekend long in the summer months, this is an excellent fallback.
8 dollars for a small bucket of range balls with dimples worn off. They were new when Walter Hagen was a kid. Cheap ownership, golf course is ideal for women & new golfers. Driving range is the star of the facility & its fair at best.
A good course for beginners like myself. Not a ton of hazards and straightforward holes. I like the driving range that they have as well. I used to go to Harvard greens, but it was demolished and so this is the closest spot for me to meet with my instructor and practice.
