I have been coming here for the last 2 years or so and every time I have it has been great. The hairdresser has done a wonderful job each time. I have A LOT of thick hair and when i went in for a retwist she managed to get my messy hair all nice and cleaner up. She also did a great job with the wash as well. She also plays really fun music as well. 10/10 I would definitely come again and I would definitely recommend Akoss Beauty for any of your hair needs.
Actually I wouldnt give her or her shop any stars due to the fact that she is very unprofessional, rude and aggressive. Mind you, I didnt even go to get my hair done, i took my niece to get her hair done. When my niece got in the car she was in tears. I went to tell her about the issue to get the 200 back that my niece paid. She proceeded to say that if she Wasnt happy that she should've said something. another customer that was there, said she did say she Wasnt happy with the job and the lady ignored it. My niece also took her own hair in for her to do the weave. She only gave us 50 bucks back. After charging her 200 for something she isn't satisfied with. NOBODY SHOULD LEAVE A BEAUTYSHOP IN TEARS, EVER! This shop shouldn't be open, period. Not one customer was any kind of satisfied there tonight at her little shop of no no's.
I'm not a local residence but have been staying in the area for over a month and was in desperate need of a hair wash and condition. I found this place from a goggle search. I would have done better washing my hair in the kitchen sink. Prices are Hi-end for some unknown reason. Products are dollar store/drugstore grade, suite is dated, service is unprofessional and skill set is sub-par. I was not satisfied with my hair blow dry and asked if she could do a straight blow since I still had to flat iron mt hair at home. Also my hair still felt damp on my neck. She became upset and did not know what I meant by blow dry straight. There seemed to be a lack of passion for her craft and no interest to improve or learn. She told me how long she has done hair and she always does it that way. I paid 50 dollars and will admit I did not tip. The service does not reflect pricing. I definitely would not recommend for wash and blow dry.Service: Blowouts
I enjoyed my time, they took me in last minute and still got my hair done that day. It was done beautifully too. It didn’t feel heavy or not look full. It was light, clean, and completed my features. I just loved it!! Thank you for making y NOLA trip!
My boyfriend had half his hair braided half trim. It was $180. When he got in the car he said she was making racist comments about me everytime I stepped out. Saying he liked light skinned girls, this was extremely uncomfortable for him and unprofessional on her end. I could care less what people say about me but this lady had no problem taking my money. We've never paid over $100 to get the same braids. Do your research before coming

I'm really disappointed in this place . She really over charge me big time .Is so unprofessional in doing the services without giving set up price up front she wait until the end and she give you big number no other saloon charge like it , I went there in the first time I ask what I need she charge 75$ next time I went there for the same service at the end said is 120$ I said not what you charge me last time she swear that is no way she did that , when the proof show that she did. She blame it in my hair get longer and the last time she not wash it .which she did. And I'm sorry my hair get long why that going to put the price higher for the hair cut .maybe if coloring I will maybe accept it due the hair.longer u may use more coloring but for hair cut it not diffrent if your hair long or short . Then she put extention she said is real hair charge me for it 130$ while it wasn't any sign to show the real price .she said she put extention 50$ and I was OK with it at the end she charge me 125$ for it she said she put 2 line of the extention woww woow .I end up pay 370$ in a trip was plan to not pay more then 100$ . I do want to sue her for over charge is ridicules . I talk to her that she over charge and she need to refund the over charge. She keep blame it In my hair get longer..I really not recommend her bad experience, beside the overcharge I get in the place no one there I called she was late for half hour while I have newborn I account every minute. And at the middle of the service she said she need go pick up her daughter from school and she said all her client know that, what I never ever heard of that. She is didn't give me a price on doing my daughter's hair and I had already bought the hair to have my daughter's hair braided. She is to over priced 250.00 for braids on a 10 year old. I paid someone else 80.00 and my daughters hair looked very beautiful. I wouldn't chose her. Plus she changed me a canceled fee. If you don't even know how much it would cost to braid hair. Fraudulently wouldn't give me back my daughter's hair for braiding unless I paid her fee which no fee was even posted.. It’s Not slander for being honest how you treat your customers. I showed up to the appointment and you was a hour late. You gave me a quote on my daughters hair and you thought I owned you money for you being late to our appointment!!! I had every right to change my mind in that situation!!! You was looking at my skin color thinking I didn’t know any better!!!!
I had my perm cut out for dreadlocks and the beautician who did my locks performed a disaster. The parts were crooked and the ends still had perm on the ends. I took one look in the mirror and was shocked beyond words. It was so bad I bought a wig. I said nothing to the beautician I just paid her and left never to see her again. Then Akoss was a god sent. She srarted my locs from scratch and did an outstanding job. I look forward to working with her for years to come.Services: Haircut
