Kristin Seveigny does an excellent job with my daughter, and really considers all angles to get to the core of what's on her mind. Then sifts through that communication and relays what is necessary to the parent level. She is an asset to the team here and I highly recommend her service. 5/5 there. The only issue I have faced and enough to warrant a drop in the review was with a specific receptionist, Cameron. Whilst waiting, you will often hear the banter and personal anecdotes after this receptionist gets off the phone with patients that had called the office. Personally, I believe that to be unprofessional and information that should be kept private. Enter the information, schedule the appointments, and politely ask the question without personal takes or opinions after the fact. There was another issue, however I understand this may be more of an office policy. I had arrived early to check my daughter in, she was in the car with my father, along with her younger brother who is on the spectrum who prefers his sister, or myself in the car with him. Cameron had informed me that she could not be checked in without presently being there. No problem, I had my daughter come out of the car to join me for check in. What we couldn't do however, was exit the building. Otherwise we would be checked out according to Cameron. I had asked if I could just come back in 40 minutes and recheck in as we were just early. It was explained that we couldn't recheck in for that circumstance. Felt extreme but I went with it, flagged my father down, and we all waited in the office. While waiting during that visit 9/12/23, 4:45pm there was just another family along with my own waiting. This family had dropped off their sign-in/registration tablet at the window after completing it. Cameron proceeded to yell out the window "to the parents that just dropped off this tablet at the window, could you come up to the window". As if there was a multitude of different families waiting. It was just us directly in front of the window, and the other family. The whole thing was awkward and came off rather rude. Other than those issues, the rest of the staff is quite pleasant and professional. Again, I would highly recommend Kristin.
~warning~ watch for the questions they force you to answer about your kids. And if you don't answer the ''Dr'' ask the kids when the parents not in the room Who ever came up with them might be quite damaged.. I'm not saying they are or not but that's how I took it when I was asked them with my kid and could possibly cause serious problems with children that are just being kids I feel it's away to brand the kids for life....
Staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Knighton is great. We have been going since my daughter was born. She is now 2. They have done a good job with her healthcare. After hours nurse line is amazing. I always feel they care about my daughter.
I am very unsatisfied with Dr. Castillo and her team. I had a doctors appointment for my daughter that I wanted to be apart of. I had some concerns and questions about her medical needs. I was told to wait in the waiting room the doctor never talked to me personally or anything. I have never had an issue with any doctor until now. What a shame.
We have been going here for almost 9 years and have loved every nurse and Dr. we have seen. Always on top of figuring out any problems and answers to all questions I’ve had. Even their after hours nurse line was such a life saver as a new mom with sick babies. The office is always clean and I’ve never had a long wait.
What a train wreck! I was able to set up an appointment online with them for a weekend appointment SEVERAL weeks in advance for my son to go in for a check-up. The only reason I chose to wait so long for this appointment is because this is the only Akron Children’s that would have a weekend appointment around our location. As a mother that works the Monday-Friday during the times that doctors offices do, this is my only option in order to not miss work. I was actually quite relieved when I had found this appointment slot open. We had been going to Akron Children’s in Mansfield but they don’t offer weekends. Anyways after waiting weeks for this weekend to arrive, it finally came down to it. I receive a text saying to reply Y to confirm this appointment. I went ahead and confirmed this appointment through texting, ultimately receiving a CONFIRMATION text saying it was good to go. Long story short, they end up calling and cancelling on me. Apparently they don’t take “new patients” on the weekends. I’m going to have to call bull. 1 We have gone to SEVERAL other divisions of Akron Children’s and strangely enough they’ve ALL never had a problem pulling up our information. Because we are not NEW PATIENTS. How would they had known that we had been going to Mansfield if they didn’t have our information? 2 Why offer weekend appointment options for anyone to sign up for online without saying that it is only for returning patients from this branch? 3 No advance notice was given about this. Somehow I was able to book this, wait several weeks to finally get to this date, and confirm the appointment, BEFORE anyone had even attempted to get ahold of me about this. If I had known that you planned on cancelling on me and wasting my time when this appointment was set up I would’ve already had an appointment with a better organized doctors office. To say the least, we are very disappointed in this place. Like I said, what an absolute train wreck. **Edit 10.21.2021** They have never tried to contact me or respond to this review, but are able to respond to everyone else’s. I think that says something for this location all in itself.
After being denied access to my sons chart who just turned 18 and is a senior this year i had to go through many hoops just to talk to a person. And yes I get he is an adult now... First tried to schedule an appt and was waiting for someone for 13minutes to which i gave up then finally got ahold of someone at the office, Kim who was very rude and all i wanted to know was what my son had to do to get his records. Kim was rude and her tone was as if she was annoyed she had to answer the phone. Past experience before this became such a hassle to speak to someone was great. Susan the nurse is amazing and Sylvia the past receptionist was great.
I used to love bringing my sons to this office, however after months of being ignored and dismissed about an issue that was clearly present with my youngest son, I had to leave. It got so bad that he was having some pretty serious issues and I was still dismissed. He was diagnosed with a milk protein intolerance at the Mansfield office, and he’s been a completely different baby/toddler ever since. Never an issue again!
My daughters see the nurse practitioner here and we love her. The office is clean, the staff is nice and attentive. My daughter was recently diagnosed with autism and Joyce the nurse practitioner is the reason we were able to get her diagnosed so early and started on treatment. Love this place.
The doctors and staff are typically kind, but be prepared for insane wait times if you need to speak to anyone since all calls are directed through a large call center.
