Had a blast at this theater for the first time! I had a drink at the bar, and was munching on popcorn while enjoying a fantastic movie. Tried their chicken sandwich with a garden salad and soda - yummy! Just a heads up, the food portions aren't massive, but more about the overall experience. The visuals and audio were top-notch. The theater lobby and screening room felt very elegant and subdued. The only downside? It can be a bit pricey with the movie and food. But overall it was a very memorable experience and highly recommended!
This place is outstanding. Tickets are about $14. Popcorn is about $10 comes in a huge metal bowl and is bottomless. Just push a button and it's delivered to your seat in 2 minutes. Also the chips and melted cheese is also bottomless. I recommend getting a bottle of red wine for $36 as the mixed drinks have little to no alcohol in them and they are around $9 to $12. The seats are very comfortable. But it's very dark inside. And some tables have dimighrs that do not work. So it's impossible to see your menu.
I visit all four DMV locations frequently but the Alamo One Loudoun has the most robust film community attached. This largely affects the monthly lineup which features obscure, cult titles for their Film Club series. A series which again promotes camaraderie among patrons. All theaters are employed with elevated seats which leaves ample space for servers to deliver food without obscuring the screen. Unfortunately, their menu prices are ever-increasing. Eat before arrival or be prepared to spend. Despite the hour-long drive from home, I always enjoy visiting this location.
I wish there was 4.5 stars to give. This is my family's go-to movie theater. They run a friendly and tight ship. I love being able to reserve your seat ahead. We always get there early and get our food order in before any rush. My kids love the shakes, popcorn, wings and pretzel. My wife and I wish the menu was a little healthier and more wine choices, but we get it. My kids wish the seats recline - I know my wife and I might fall asleep if they did! My biggest ask of them is it is SO hard to see the bill in the dark at the end. Let me tip in the beginning, or you write the total in thick sharpie, or let me circle a tip % amount at the end and be done with it.
LOVE IT HERE! Very CLEAN, Food and beverages were Fresh no stale, non-Hot popcorn, prepared well and the staff was Super professional, accommodating and friendly. The design with a bar/counter for Eats/Drinks is better for eating and service. There's still a convenient cup holder next to your seat too. I definitely recommend this Alamo location.
I've been to many Alamos and most are nice theaters. This one was ok, but could use improvement in a few key areas. There is obviously some sort of cell phone blocking going on. No one should be on their phone during a movie, but you also shouldn't have to walk outside to check for emergency messages that could easily be checked in the lobby or on a bathroom break. Heard many people complaining and walking outside to get signal. The walk is not short! Restrooms pretty dirty and very small. Lines at every women's restroom on a late evening week night mid week....not even a weekend or premier. Most stalls without any toilet paper. Finally, at least one theater has seats with small shared tables between seats and this table is not large enough for two trays of food unless one is pushed out of reach. Otherwise good sound, nice employees, quiet chairs.
I took my 3 younger siblings 8 & under to go see the newest spider-man movie! Patrick was our server & took excellent care! I haven't had a kind sever like him in a long time, & it was refreshing to have someone so nice & welcoming! The viewing was a sensory friendly one, so perfect for anyone with young kiddos that might have trouble in a typical theater that's silent & dark. It was still dimly lit, & the movie noises weren't too loud either. They also allowed walking/moving around which was great for the littles, it's hard sitting one place for so long! I had such a great experience & genuinely felt cared about by our server, now that I know about these sensory friendly showings this will be a regular thing till school starts! Thank you Patrick & The Alamo ! :
If you miss the movie by one minute they won't let you in. It's disgusting. Now they've turned it into an airline. Where you have to RUN to make it on time or lose your place. You can't even watch a movie in 2023 without the stress of having to be exactly on time. I'll never go to this junkie theater again. When I buy my ticket I reserve my seat. Why does it matter if I'm one minute late trying to find parking? Absolutely disturbing behavior. Update: just bought tickets to watch my film right around the corner at AMC. The tickets there were WAY cheaper anyway. Hopefully Alamo goes out of business soon! They're already losing massive market share to the streaming services!
Very nice theater. Theater A/9 is larger with a spectacular sound system. They serve food at your seat, which is why they want you there 30 min before the show - at least they provided an entertaining short film. They say no late arrivals - you get a refund. They threaten to throw you out and ban for talking or texting, so no one does. The only problem is that the food is expensive - a couple if beers, a pretzel and popcorn ran me $60 with a tip. With matinee discount tickets we were at $90 for two. Good for a splurge, but those $20 movie rentals on line look a lot cheaper!
I do like Alamo Drafthouse, but the configuration of how the dining is set up can be a little wonky as you need to sit on the far edge of your seat and lean a ways over to keep your meal over the tray and then if people need to get in and out of their seats, you need to make sure your food is pushed forward and you’re sitting back so they can squeeze in between. So this is not the sitting back in your easy chair while picking food off of a swing-out tray experiencing you might be thinking of, but it is more economical than some of the premium theaters and the food and brew choices are good, also the servers are nice and the movie selection is fun…
