Wanna know why I still push out Google reviews knowing there’s zero ROI for all my wasted time and effort? Could be that my old pal OCD or his long-time BESTIE, Mr. Mental illness, are to blame. I just dunno! But it certainly ain’t the perks because there aren’t any. So, since I can’t stop myself, I’m compelled to write another one. I’m many years late to the party when it comes to the movie theater/restaurant concept, but now I’m a huge fan of the Majestic Tempe 7. Just to clarify, the cuisine is miles away from gourmet, still, the food is good enough for MY unpretentious palate. Seriously, if you put the right sauce on it, I’d eat a cardboard box AND the person holding it. But food isn’t the reason people come to the Majestic. It’s not even the movies. It’s the thrill of being able to legally drink alcohol without having to illegally sneak it in. And all that booze makes it fun to fumble around in the pitch dark trying to guess what’s actually on your plate using only touch, smell, and taste to guide you. HOT TIP: If you take a date to a weekday matinee and feel a bit amorous, it’s likely you’ll find yourselves the only two people in the theater. Just sayin’….
An amazing local dine in movie theater, the priced, food, portions and staff were amazing. They also have a full bar and the drinks other than icee and alcohol have free refills. The theater was huge, sound and screen was great, chars were comfy nicely cushioned though only the front chairs are reclining, they also offer bottomless popcorn for 10.50 and bottomless drinks including Italian soda the watermelon is best
Everything is perfect! Excellent location for movies. The staff was attentive and friendly. Drinks and popcorn refills are on point. Classic Video games.everything I want from a movie theater. I hope you stop by and enjoy a movie here!
The theater is a really cool place. If you are looking to watch a movie and eat at the same time. This movie theater is the place to be. Their seats are so comfortable and you have enough place to eat. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The movie quality is good. During the day it is not so busy if you are looking for a quiet time.
Will definitely be back! We saw Dune in theater 4. Great seats 508-508 servers and crew were phenomenal! Loved the secret menu item potato tacos.
I enjoy this theater a lot and would like to go more often, but I don't see the point in paying more to go here when the "no theater disruptions" rule isn't enforced. I saw a PG-13 movie and a family came in late with two really young kids and they immediately started running around the theater. The parents were yelling at the kids, then talking to them, then yelling at them again when they ran off again, and even using a flashlight to read the menu during the movie. This went on for almost the entire run time of the film, multiple employees talked to them but they were never told to leave. I understand that children are allowed in a PG-13 movie, but this is just absolutely ridiculous. They were a problem the minute they sat down. I've come to expect this kind of stuff for superhero movies or animated films, but this was a drama and the children very clearly were bored. I wouldn't expect audience behavior like this at a drama and especially not at this theater. I've worked at a movie theater, I know that absolutely nobody wants to remove a customer, but at some point I have to acknowledge that I'm paying extra for the exact same type of audience disruption I can expect at any other theater that would be cheaper. I love watching movies and I know that nobody can control what other people do, but I feel like I'm going insane if I can't go to this premium theater location to get some slight guarantee of a semi-normal theater experience. I'm not looking for a refund, an explanation, or an apology, I'm looking for change. Stop letting parents bring four year olds in to movies that a four year old clearly doesn't want to watch. Politely give them a refund and/or point them to a different movie that the kid might actually sit down and watch or at the very least patrons might expect to see a child in.
If you are at all like me and you just enjoy the old-school activity of going to the movies, then the Majestic 7 in Tempe is for you. I've been coming here since it was the Alamo and as sad as I was to see that franchise go, the Majestic has become my go-to local movie theatre. It has all the charm of going to the movies from days gone by. The staff is always friendly, the food is great, and the beer selection is excellent. Their curated cinema selections have become the hub around which I build my social calendar. Remember when you just used to go to the movies with your friends?! It was great! And it still is when you go to a place with this kind of heart. Is it always perfect? No. Is it always polished? No. Who cares! This is how movies were meant to be seen in intimate theaters surrounded by friends and people who just love GOING TO THE MOVIES! If you are into the quirky, the off-the-beaten-path, the underground, the just plain fun, you can't beat the Majestic 7 in Tempe, my home for going to the movies!
We love this place for the finner/movie combo! The tap selection is great and the menu seems to be recovering post-covid when they really scaled it back to survive. They have fun throwback movies and movie parties with themed menus and hosts. Our kids love how special it is to have service in the theater, and the school's out summer kid ticket prices are awesome. Our Dune pt2 showing had a screen issue, so they said we could get a refund or switch theaters to the next showing. I wish there would have been more comp like the extra money needed for our babtsitter, but a free popcorn voucher was at least a nod. We sat at the bar and chatted with Seth the bartender and he was very welcoming while we sat and waited, chill and chatty when we had any questions and helpful with our tab switch. Don't change, Majestic! We love your neighborhood feel, that you aren't like the big guys. Stay grounded with that local feel and please bring back the full bar or at least more than 1 option per liquor, and make the buffalo cauliflower GF!
Great theatre and the staff is friendly. The food was good, ordered fish and chips and veggie pizza. I took 2 stars away as there were bugs and even crawled on to the keg-ewe! And the waiter was standing right in front of you blocking the screen. C’mon-common sense tells - do not block the screen by standing right in front of someone watching it. Other than that… it was okay. We may go back but worried about bugs and clueless waiter who just thinks it’s okay to block the view. Also they kept on brining incorrect order to the tables. The experience could be better.
Unreliable place for a movie. Power always goes out and they don’t compensate anyone besides a rain check day. Power went out for 2 showings to dune and they kept saying 10 minutes every 10 minutes for an hour. Then without telling everyone, started putting select people in an empty theatre so our big friend group didn’t realize until we asked. Staff didn’t care and made excuses. Booked tickets weeks in advance only for opening night of dune to be ruined. This place should be embarrassed to call itself a theatre. Don’t ever go to this Majestic.
