Description

The Albany International Airport is operated by the Albany County Airport Authority under a 40-year lease with Albany County. The airport serves as the major air center for the Capital Region, Northeastern New York and Western New England. In response to an increase in air traffic, economic development and customer demand, the Albany County Airport Authority embarked on an Airport Improvement Project that included a new terminal, jetways, and Aircraft Control Tower. The $158 million project was funded with Airport Improvement (AIP), Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) and Airport Revenue Funds.

The new terminal, which opened in June 1998, is designed to accommodate 1.5-million enplanements annually. The terminal includes unique restaurants and exciting shops. The terminal also includes the airport Business Center that offers computer workstations, laptop workstations, three conference rooms, Foreign Currency Exchange, and video conferencing facilities. The Art & Culture Program showcases the Region’s creative vitality through temporary exhibitions and installations, and Departure, The Shop of Capital Region museums, features merchandise from dozens of area museums and hundreds of regional artisans.

In 1999, the Airport Authority began construction of a 16,000 sq. ft. addition to the new terminal to accommodate Southwest Airlines. The project was completed in 2000 and included the addition of two new jet bridges.

The Albany International Airport handles an average of 75 daily commercial arrivals and departures and regulates 1,000 tower operations each day.

The Albany International Airport has over 6,000 parking places including a 2,400-car parking garage, long-term, short-term and economy parking. The economy E-Lot is served by the Airport Shuttlebus Service.

Title: Excellent Long-Term Parking Experience at Albany International Airport Review: I recently had the pleasure of utilizing the long-term parking services at Albany International Airport, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the cleanliness to the comfort, the airport's long-term parking exceeded my expectations, making my trip hassle-free and convenient. One of the standout features of the long-term parking was its cleanliness. The parking lot was meticulously maintained, with no signs of litter or debris in sight. The grounds were well-kept, and the parking spaces themselves were clean and well-marked, allowing for easy navigation and organization. It was evident that the airport staff took great pride in ensuring a pristine environment for their guests. Moreover, the level of comfort provided in the long-term parking area was truly impressive. The parking lot was spacious, providing ample room for maneuvering and loading/unloading luggage. The availability of covered parking spaces offered protection from the elements, ensuring that vehicles remained shielded from inclement weather conditions. Additionally, the well-lit parking area instilled a sense of safety and security, especially for those arriving or departing during late hours. The attention to detail and the thoughtful amenities provided made the overall experience both comfortable and stress-free. Furthermore, the convenience of Albany International Airport's long-term parking cannot be overstated. The proximity of the parking lot to the terminal allowed for a quick and easy walk, eliminating the need for long shuttles or extended travel times. This was particularly appreciated when returning from a tiring journey, as the short distance minimized the post-flight fatigue. The accessibility and efficiency of the parking facilities made the overall travel experience seamless and enjoyable. In conclusion, I highly recommend the long-term parking services at Albany International Airport. The cleanliness, comfort, and convenience provided in the parking area were exceptional. The well-maintained grounds, spacious parking spaces, and covered options demonstrated a commitment to customer satisfaction. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, you can trust that Albany International Airport's long-term parking will enhance your journey and make parking a breeze.
LIKED - Easy to get to. Fast check in including TSA. - Long term parking + shuttle adds to the convenience. - Affordable flights. WOULD HAVE LIKED - More room at the terminal to spread out fortunately a new terminal expansion project is coming. - More eateries at the gates. - An international flight connection to the Caribbean.
Easy to navigate regional airport. A fair number of restaurants including Chick-fil-A and Wolfgang Puck Pizza. Restaurants close early 6:00 Chick-fil-A was 7:00. Nice people. One drawback was my wife and kids saw at least one mouse at the gate waiting area. She is terrified of rodents and refused to sit in that area and instead sat with her feet up further away from the gate.
I parked at the North long-term parking building. It is right next to the terminals. Excellent experience. Accepts e-zpass. And as a bonus you get to charge your EV while you're there. Love this airport. Low volume and low pressure. Recommended highly
A nice clean airport that seems to run smoothly. Happened to fly in on the same plane as John Schuerholtz so the autographs started right when we deplaned as they were headed to Cooperstown.
We had a good experience at the airport. My husband is a disabled Veteran and your staff took good care of him. I appreciate all they did for him. They got him on and off the plane and took him to the next gate. I would like to thank the staff again for all their help because I couldn't have been able to do it all myself.
I fly into Albany twice a year and am always SO impressed with how fast and efficient the airport and security team is! I just breezed through in under 5 minutes from bag check to security clearance and everyone was so nice! The fact that there is a Starbucks and a Chic-Fil-A side by side once you get past security is a bonus! I've travelled through many airports and Albany Intl is by far my favorite!!
For a regional airport, it's pretty nice. Number of choices for getting food including a Starbucks, a Wolfgang Puck Pizza, Burger King, in several sit down restaurants. It's well maintained, and clean, with lots of bathrooms that are also clean and well maintained. Getting through security was really fast and efficient. I love the art on the walls. It really makes the place look a lot nicer,
Last flight and a delayed flight made worse by the fact that they have no/bad wifi and the AC is shut off with everyone sweating. Security was nice and easy. Usually I dread security and an relaxed after getting through. This place is not a fun experience.. sweaty and no wifi= awful.
The airport is pretty standard. Be prepared for long lines for red eye flights. Be prepared for long lines at Chick-fil-A, there is a Starbucks here too. McDonald’s was recently replaced with Burger King. The shops here close early as in 6:30pm on a Saturday.
