ATC's Child Development Demonstration Center serves as an onsite demonstration lab for students enrolled in the Early Childhood Care and Education Division
The center’s program revolves around the philosophy that each child has the right to be cared for in a nurturing environment, and that children learn through play and through hands-on experiences.
At Albany Technical College Child Development Demonstration Center, we are committed to implementing strategies and daily practices that yield lasting results. We have adopted measurable goals in educating your children.
Upon the completion of our child development program, children will be able to:
Develop healthy self-concepts.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with adults and all children.
Develop independence and self-help skills.
Exhibit physical, cognitive (thinking), and language skills appropriate to their individual levels of development.
Demonstrate listening skills and follow directions.
Establish an awareness of emotions.
Exhibit and process both verbal and nonverbal expressions.
Apply problem solving techniques.
Demonstrate appropriate methods of resolving conflicts with others.
Utilize basic computer skills to manipulate developmentally appropriate software programs.
