Visited on a Saturday mid-afternoon. Place was clean and had a lot of room for customers to move around the displays. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The selection was typical of a bakery this size with cookies, cannoli, cakes etc... but they also had fresh bread and rolls. Quality was very good, not the absolute top tier of pastry I have had, BUT, & it's a BIG BUT, the value was off the charts. What you get for your $$ is exceptional we left with some cookies for the road and a full box of other goodies and the total was less than $25. This easily would have been $50 plus in a lot of places. I don't know about you but I am OK with a %10 reduction in perfection for a %60 discount in price. Will be stopping here again when we are in the area.
I bought some macaroons and sugar cookies. Now they looked pretty good, but overall the sugar cookies was a little dry and macaroons, not something I'd buy again. They weren't bad, but not cooked or taste to what I like. I may be back to try other goods, but I'll still go out of my way to go to a favorite place in Peabody. Here's a couple pictures, and they do look delicious and was 36 dollars for total of 24 cookies mainly priced by weight.
Everything I have bought there has been excellent. They are kind and courteous and they will help you out as best they can which over the past 10 years I have been going there has been excellent. Their bismarcks are my favorite as well as any pastries and pies
You can't go wrong with this bakery from the bread to the pastries to the cakes and the pies they have it all best ever.... Best lobster tails ever !!!!!!
Only bakery I will go to, best frosting ever !!!! Lemon squares and cannolis are to die for ! I just got lemon meringue pie , best ever ! Try them you will love them ! Staff is amazing as well
Yummy pastries, lemon bars were thick and smooth, just enough lemon delicious, Blueberry muffins we're almost melt in your mouth, I'd like to see them a bit bigger they were close to the blueberry muffins Mr V use to make, blueberries through out the muffin. Prices were good, I'm not sure about their whole pies, breads and cakes, I do know the cake we had ordered on a previous visit was absolutely delicious. Stop by here and try out one of their many pastries, I don't think you will be disappointed. Very friendly staff also.
Picked up a birthday cake yesterday It was a well decorated chocolate cake with white frosting and had a great flavor. My family loved it ! The flavor of the cake and frosting was the best cake I have ever had. I will be back. Don't forget to grab the snow flake rolls.
Albie D's has become my regular stop for a Friday morning treat. I usually get one of their great muffins unless they have pecan rolls which are amazing. I have also tried their apple pie and various rolls which are all great.
Dropped in for the first time, to take home a bday treat for my husband- I have always baked my own pastries but changed careers and it's harder when you don't work in a kitchen anymore! Filled a box, it was Awesome!! Highly recommend! Toss up between eclair and mini Boston creme pies as a fave this time around! The teenagers even hung out with their parents longer, cause of the desserts lol!
I found a slice of heaven recently. As someone who tries to limit carbs but also is a Sicilian woman, I had been avoiding going into Albie D's 2nd Gen Italian Bakery since moved to Haverhill 3 yrs ago. Alas, I had caved and now I am blissfully working my way through the menu. You can absolutely taste the dedication to craft and love kneaded into every bite of goodness. The bread is Far Superior to those other guys in the Valley. The cookies literally melt in your mouth. The Danish.....Out Of This World! The shop is fun and inviting, with staff who treat you like family from the second you walk in. So Hooked!! Definitely recommend the Lemon Tarts, TeeVee Bars and the amazing breads for sopping up soup season!
