The main goal of the ACSEF is to support programs and technology that are needed in the Alexander City Schools but is not yet funded.
The Alexander City Schools Education Foundation is moving into the second phase of applying technology in our schools to help make our school system one of the best. The application of technology to augment the learning process has proven to be a great success in our school system the past five years. We want to share with you our plans for technology integration in the learning process for the next five years.
Looking forward, the Alexander City School system plans to provide iPads for all students at BRHS and ACMS. The iPads will be used in classrooms to enhance the delivery of instructional information. Textbooks will not be needed in many classes. Computer labs, enhanced media centers, robotics and technical instructional aids are the technology focus in the elementary schools. The iPad technology will be integrated into the elementary school instructional process as well. Initially, a thirty unit mobile iPad lab is planned for each elementary school grade. The mobile labs will be used for project based instruction.
The Alexander City Schools Education Foundation (ACSEF) was re-organized in 2003. The mission of the ACSEF is to secure resources from individuals, corporations, and foundations to promote excellence and mobilize community support for the Alexander City Schools.
The main goal of the ACSEF is to support programs and technology that is needed in the Alexander City Schools but is not yet funded. Recently the ACSEF has made upgrades to computers and software in all five Alexander City Schools.
Also, foreign language and fine arts programs have been added to the Alexander City Schools curriculum, as well as a variety of tutors.
