Dr. Alexander Schwartzman is a Chief of General Surgery at the University Hospital of Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate Medical center and Medical Director at SUNY Downstate Medical Center at Bayridge.
Dr. Alexander Schwartzman is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He is in an active and busy academic clinical practice since 1988. Dr. Schwartzman is a Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University Hospital of Brooklyn and a Medical Director at SUNY Bayridge, which is a full range ambulatory surgery center. Dr. Schwartzman has been an Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Training Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center since 2001. Dr. Schwartzman is a recipient of ten Best Teacher Awards, as voted by the medical students and surgical residents. Dr. Schwartzman is currently completing an MBA program from the George Washington University. His areas of clinical interest include a full scope of general surgical procedures. These include minimally invasive and robotics assisted procedures.
