In addition, our clients are uniquely served by our experience. Alford & Alford is a father-daughter law partnership of William C. “Neil” Alford and Lydia J Alford. With 40 years of experience, Neil has handled varied, simple and complex, residential and commercial real estate matters. Lydia’s 24 years of experience gives her the ability to offer well-rounded pragmatic solutions to varied civil legal issues.
Lydia earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), a law degree from the LSU Law Center and a masters in banking law studies from Boston University. Neil holds a Industrial Arts engineering degree from Northwestern Louisiana University and a law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.
Both Neil and Lydia are licensed to practice law in Louisiana and are admitted to practice before all state courts of the State of Louisiana. Lydia is also admitted to practice before the federal court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the U. S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Lydia was FDIC trial counsel in the reported Louisiana tax sale case, FDIC v. McNamara, 130 F.3d 1139, No. 96-31127 (5th 1997). She was also counsel in the reported cases, Blitch Architects v. Avenue Partnership, 93-1703 (La. App. 4th Cir. 1994), 632 So.2d 850 and New Orleans Public Service, Inc. v. Vanzant, 580 So.2d 533 (La. App. 4th Cir. 1991). Neil Alford was counsel of record in Munro v. Leisure, Inc., 346 So.2d 823 (La. App. 1st Cir. 1977) and Firmin v. Miller, 355 So.2d 977 (La. App. 3rd Cir. 1977).
Community involvement is important to Neil and Lydia. They have served in leadership roles for the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Slidell Northshore, Rotary District 6840, Leadership Northshore, the Slidell Bar Association, the St. Tammany Bar Association and the 22nd JDC Indigent Defender Board.
