One of the best libraries I've ever been to! Beautiful fish tank, lots of fun activities for all ages, very helpful staff and much much more! Definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a good library!
Great library has everything you would need plus more. The staff is super nice and helpful. The selection is huge. Drive thru drop off and pickup available. Large kids play area. Fun theme bags to take home. Plenty of quiet areas to read at
I can no longer come to this library. The employees routinely talk very loudly and laugh out loud. It’s a library, it’s supposed to be quiet. I’m not a Karen, and I’m not expecting it to be pin quiet, but when the employees are having full conversations as if they were talking in a crowded restaurant, that defeats the purpose of a library. UPDATE: I visited this location today after a long period away because of how horrible this place is. The SAME guy was laughing very loud and it was very difficult to concentrate on my reading. Libraries are suppose to be quiet, why is this library EMPLOYEE talking and laughing as if he’s outside. And to top it all off, I saw another library employee tell others to be more quiet?! Wow! Don’t come here if you need a place quiet to read!
My go-to place to study even though it's not my hometown library it has everything I need and more. Wonderful, helpful staff to boot! A cozy gem in our area!
Good library with friendly staff and great selection of books. We also had our passports processed here. Very convenient.
Have lived in Algonquin for the past 16 years, and the Algonquin public library continues to be one of the highlights of this area! The staff are kind and helpful. The building has grown as a library and community resource over the years. And the leader ship has proven to be both effective and inspiring.
PSA- be sure to check your library books before checking them out because you could be charged for damage to a book even if you didn’t cause it. Library had no record of gum and stains in the book I checked out, so when I returned it in the exact same condition as I checked it out, they called me and told me they are charging me the fee of the book to replace it. I stated it wasn’t from me and I had seen the gum in it, but since I didn’t report it ? and the person that checked it in last didn’t note anything, it’s my fee. It’s not that expensive, so I’ll pay it, but I’m a very rule governed person and try to do the right thing, and this just didn’t sit well with me.
Great trip to the library. The staff is always very helpful. They helped me with printing from my computer. Thank you Algonquin Public Library for your services to the public and having friendly knowledgeable staff
New edition is nice. Private study rooms are great. Will be even better when all construction done. Great place for studying sometimes. I think they should have a designated Senior area so they can socialize together without disturbing those studying in the "quiet study/reading room" Make it "special" to seniors so it will not make the purpose so obvious.
Nice and quiet. Enough resources to get what I need done. The librarians honestly seem to be annoyed even when asking for the smallest bit of help. But PATTY with the short hair and glasses is great. She's always a life saver when I need help. She goes above and beyond and is very sweet/genuine!!!
