Helping the uninsured since 2008, ADWC is organized as a not-for-profit provider of mental/behavioral health services focusing on the needs of individuals, children, adolescents, and their families in the desert communities of the Coachella Valley.
In addition to our individual, couple, senior, and family counseling, we are currently providing adolescent groups in anger management, self-injury, & substance abuse. We also provide parenting classes, art workshops, crisis intervention, and sports psychology. We are currently moving forward with a program called Operation S.A.V.E. Our Youth, a creative, experientially-based program for at-risk youth, that covers subjects such as, suicide prevention, self-injury, drug & alcohol abuse, victimization/abuse, anger issues, bullying, personal growth & strength-building, etc.
The mission of All-Desert Wellness Centers is to help those who don't have the resources to help themselves--to empower individuals and families in the Coachella Valley to build and maintain healthy lives that enable them to cultivate better relationships; pursue meaningful work/education and leisure activities; and foster a more satisfying sense of community that will contribute to well-being and healthy lifestyles now and throughout their lives.
The All-Desert Wellness Centers does this by providing evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, clinical intervention, and feedback by means of the Centers' team that includes the child/adolescent and his or her family. We will also have programs which work in concert with adjunct services, facilitated by licensed and certified professionals in their respective fields. The All-Desert Wellness Centers also accomplishes this mission by training clinicians in the values and approach inherent in the Centers’ programs. These values include:
• A commitment to excellence;
• A client-centered (i.e., child, adolescent, and family-centered) approach that empowers clients to achieve their “highest and best;”
• A desire to create a supportive atmosphere that encourages trial, error, feedback, and improvement;
• A respect for and honoring of diversity; and
• A belief that every individual and every family has potential for growth.
