Allen Edmonds
"In 1922, Allen Edmonds founder Elbert W. Allen launched his new shoe company in Belgium, Wisconsin, less than 10 miles from our current headquarters. Some things remain timeless. That's how we feel about our traditional 212-step manufacturing process that has been the basis for handcrafting Allen Edmonds Goodyear welted shoes. This dedication to excellence carries over to our stores, where the majority of our master-fitters have over a decade of experience, making them experts when it comes to helping you find that pair of Allen Edmonds that will feel like they were tailored especially for your feet. Shoe quality is great, but Bellevue Square location has poor, unprofessional service. I tried on two pairs. The two people working in the store were too busy socializing. One of them refused to even look at me when I repeatedly asked for assistance getting a shoe size to try on, even though the store had no other customers. Eventually they handed me a pair, but couldn’t be bothered to untangle or loosen the laces, take out the paper fillings inside the shoe, or help at all with a proper fitting. I commented how the shoe wasn’t feeling comfortable, and one of these two employees blurted from across the store that many of their shoes aren’t. Wow, that’s some way to sell your product to customers. Absolutely zero effort. Allen Edmonds is miserably, embarrassingly failing at customer service, and it’s a disservice to your customers, your brand, and the craftsmen who make the product.
Jodi made my shoe fitting and styling super easy! Definitely would recommend this shop if you're on the market for dress shoes.
Went in to pick up some shoe care products and was given the cold shoulder. I’m assuming it was because I didn’t look like I’d spend money in the store I was dressed down in sweats that day to run errands. On top of that they were out of certain creams and polishes. I love their shoes, just not too happy with the service I received that day.
Employee take a good care of you and they want to make sure that you get the correct shoes for you and your feet. Definately an awesome place to get a nice dress shoes.
The staff here are very courteous, warm and inviting. Oh and they properly mask up which is good because it's a small store that makes for an intimate and personalized experience. They have great quality shoes and take pride in the craftsmanship made here in the USA. They go above and beyond with the customer service they provide. What they don't have in store will be delivered to your home from their warehouse. I highly recommend this place of business if you don't mind spending a few extra dollars for higher quality. Thanks for reading! As always, much love and be safe out there! I'll catch you in the next review!
The customer service was disappointing. There was one person working there that was hiding in the back office the entire hour I was in the mall passing by. When I entered I had to walk to the back to get him. For a premium shoe brand there is a reasonable expectation that the person will know about their products and oxford shoes in general. This guy seemed like he didn't want to be there and had similar training to someone working at a bargain shoe store. I love the quality of their shoes, but the customer service did not match.
First: the customer service was good. The woman that helped me matched my enthusiasm as I purchased my first pair of the iconic Park Avenue oxfords. I purchased these shoes in July of 2021. I'm writing this in review in March of 2022. I've worn these shoes at least once a week, often twice, and I still can't wear them longer than five or so hours with my feet hurting. The insole feels like it's made of stone and is not forming to my foot. I could probably deal with that by adding a pair of padded insoles but I shouldn't have to. The worse problem is that the seam where the vamp meets the toe cap is so rough that it rubs a blister on my fourth and pinky toes on my left foot. The last time I wore them, the seam made me bleed. That seems like a defect to me, so I filled out a form on the website. When I contacted AE about this and asked for a refund they said that their return policy is only for shoes that have not been worn and they suggested that I apply leather lotion to soften the leather. I do take care of my shoes and leather lotion is a part of my regular upkeep. I have about six pairs of quality dress shoes plus a few pairs of boots that i take good care of and don't have problems with. I really wanted to like Allen Edmonds and would have liked to trade this pair in for maybe a different style but, because of the response to my complaint, I will not be purchasing another pair. I'm sorely disappointed.
Very unimpressed with the staff member on duty on the evening of November 2, 2021. These are shoes that sell for $400+ and as such, a high level of customer service would be expected. Not at the Bellevue, WA store. On a slow evening, I was the only person in the store, this associate couldn’t be bothered. The impression I was left with is he wanted to get back to what every he was watching at high vol on his phone. I knew more than he did about the boots I was looking at after a small amount of research on line. He couldn’t string a coherent sentence together. Communication skills = F. Customer Service = F. I know staffing is hard to come by, but this is not a job fit. Disappointing…. Bought from Johnston & Murphy upstairs instead.
I had a great experience and purchased 2 shoes from them and have become a repeat customer purchasing 4 shoes in 3 months. The salesperson Jane knows her products and advised me to purchase the best shoes for my needs. I definitely recommend her and the store.
I guess I expected more and was definitely disappointed. Got fitted, good, found my style, good, color not in stock and had to be ordered, ok, not an issue. What became an issue was when they kept trying to push me to purchase the shoe in stock that wasn't the color I wanted; didn't help when I pointed out a clearly poorly manufactured shoe so they abruptly terminated the conversation and walked away. When the heel on one shoe is warped in an arch 1/4" and the rear stitching has been poorly done should I pay for this, absolutely not, should anyone else, absolutely not.
