Description

Think back if you can, long ago to November 4, 2009. Those dang Yankees won the World Series, and the brand new Allen Event Center opened its doors to the public for the first time. Since breaking ground July 23, 2008 and opening on that historic day, Allen Event Center has become a premiere entertainment and sports venue for North Texas residents.

Perhaps it is the abundance of free parking. Perhaps it is the affordable quality of the food and drinks Allen Event Center offers. Perhaps it is the vast variety of shopping and dining options surrounding Allen Event Center in The Village at Allen. Perhaps it is just the way the City of Allen does things... whatever it is, Allen Event Center is THE place to be when it comes to events of any kind.

Located in The Village at Allen, one of the largest mixed-use developments in the state of Texas and country, Allen Event Center is a city owned 8,100 + capacity multi-sport and entertainment arena. In the first three months, the arena hosted a multitude of shows from Reba McEntire, Styx & REO Speedwagon and Lil’ Wayne concerts to ultimate sports like Monster Trucks and Extreme Ice Racing.

Allen Event Center’s future is as big and bright as the stars at night deep in the heart of Texas. Allen Event Center is a one-of-a-kind sports, entertainment and conference venue that uniquely combines the proud cultural heritage of the City of Allen with unsurpassed state-of-the-art technological features. Make your way to Allen Event Center because… IT ALL HAPPENS HERE!

Took the family to a concert here and it was pretty good. The venue is not the best but we did have fun. There is some parking issues in my opinion since it is in a crowded retail area that all has signs stated you can't park there unless you are there to shop, etc. So, you have to park in around the corner. It is laid out well and has an okay sound system. It does have a slightly musty smell, but that could be that we were going to a concert shortly after if just opened back up from this whole pandemic shutdown. Either way, good place to go and see a concert.
Is soccer your thing? Come out with your family for a incredible well priced , family friendly, and watch the Dallas Sidekicks play indoor soccer. The action for the most part is fast paced, high energy, and climate controlled for the ultimate soccer spectator experience. The field could use some updates, like a new painted logo but otherwise this is a true gem. They first started in 1984 and spent many years playing in reunion arena in Dallas before that was closed and they moved here. Tickets were very economical and for the size of the event there is not really a bad seat. Come make memories!!!
I have attended many Allen American Hockey games here and had great experiences. However, I attended a high school graduation this last weekend here and they displayed a complete lack of preparation and organization. They issued tickets to a school with assigned seating, yet the day of the event did not have enough seating and rows they gave out. Security and the venue staff showed very little communication in working together to fix the problem. I finally located the person who said he was in charge and blamed the school. It was a complete mess for dozens of people. They eventually just told the other people to sit wherever. Most involved never got any apologies from those responsible. Just a heads up to prepared if you attend an event here other than hockey games. I recommend you get there way early!
Went to the Dallas vs Florida mini soccer game, was probably less than 50% occupied. Great arena, lots of visual and audio affects, food prices were, of course, crazy, $5 for a bottle of water, but it’s always like this in these places. Seems like that’s the only way they make money. Good service, clean and amazing atmosphere to get entertained.
We went to the Allen Americans game for Teddy Bear Toss night. We lost, yet it was so much fun. It always is at Allen Event Center. It is like a mini American Airlines Center. Except there is no bad seat in the house. I have been here for concerts, and gun shows. It is by far, the best venue I have ever been too. Not too big, not too small, great seats, good acoustics, great staff, and easy to get in and out of. 1 issue... I wish the food and drinks were about half the price they are now, then it would at least be a fair price. But it is all that, with good ticket prices and free parking. So I guess, you're gonna have to feel the pain somewhere. Overall, excellent!
Attended the Fire vs Police hockey game tonight. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the game. The venue and surrounding areas are very nice with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The food and alcohol at the game is priced high, but typical for sporting events. They had a live band in the concourse area that was fun and crazy. We would definitely come back for another hockey game.

Went to a graduation ceremony for two great nephews this past Tuesday. There was plenty of police presence, which was good, especially considering the recent shooting at the Allen Premium Outlet Mall. We were not told until we god there that my wife's purse was too big by a matter of a couple of inches, and so they turned us away.. We went back to the car, on Level 2 because there was no handicap parting available, and we had to walk the entire distance. When we returned, we made it to the metal detector, which is when they told me I could not carry a small pocket knife into the event center. That was fine. It would have been nice to be told beforehand what I could not bring, but the event staff took my knife and threw it away. It's a commemorative Marine Corps knife and I could not allow them to trash my personal property. So I asked for it back and the man told me no. His supervisor made him get the knife out of the trash so I could return once again to the car to lock it in. I am disabled and walk with a pronounced limp.I am a military veteran Marine Corps. The staff infuriated me at the center. To be fair, the police officers were very kind and helpful; and pleasant while doing their jobs. I eventually made it in to the graduation ceremony. The supervisor apologized profusely about the "error" of the one member of the staff who just threw my personal property away. I appreciated her comment, but never got a word out of the actual culprit and so I will not be returning to the Allen Event Center for any reason until the man responsible for throwing away my property apologizes to me personally. Needed:: additional parking for handicapped people. Clear and advanced notification of items allowed and disallowed sent out. The seats are too close together for taller people to site correctly. This forced me to sit at an angle, which exacerbated my back condition two back surgeries, seven abdominal surgeries, two knee surgeries, rour eye surgeries, three nose surgeries. and teo skin cancer surgeries. Perhaps they don't care about the disabled. veterans, or the comfort of their guests. I don't know. It was bad enough walking once with all the pain I experience, but I was forced to make the tripe three times. I will not be takling my knife with me next time, of course, but a womans purse what is close to the allowable size should be allowed if they don't give advanced notuce.
Attended private event, facilities are nice and easy to get around. Food is pricey and the main floor is too cold, but I guess it has to be, since its hockey rink.
This is a family tradition that we started with my niece 4yrs ago. She loves it and I think the grownups live it more than she does! It is an absolute must for any kids that love Disney and the princesses! It is always the Saturday right after Thanksgiving!
