This place was toxic from top to bottom. I took a job I was completely qualified for, but never received the support from management to enable me to do my job. The folks I supervised were jealous of me receiving the job, mainly because I came from the outside. I was the worst 3 yrs of my professional career. Be careful of the department you choose.
An alliance health staff was driving down the freeway in gainesville ga ,negligently on the freeway . the truck is 2102
I worked there from 2012 until 2015 and had a fabulous experience; worked with a great team and had a super supportive Supervisor. Unfortunately I left for a much larger salary and eventually returned to Alliance. I had a very different “Supervisor “ and it was her first supervisory position. I had been in the field at that time for 26 years as a Supervisor, Program Manager and Executive Director. I have never in my entire career met or had a supervisor who was so completely void of humanity or emotion. I was going through a very difficult time at that point in my life and as a mental health agency I would have expected support from my immediate supervisor. Instead I was fired the day before I would have become a permanent employee. She was spineless. And as far as local mental health agencies that were being monitored, God help you. It all depended on who you were assigned as your evaluator. Rules and refs not followed by this LME. Would not recommend to an individual needing assistance or to anyone who may be thinking of working there.
Horrible experience trying to help them secure housing for folks who need assistance. Non responsive, don't pay bills on time, no follow up, they don't do what they say they are going to do. If you are a property manager steer clear of this unreliable company.
I likely know the ins and outs of Alliance more than most of the posters here because I have worked there. First, Alliance is not a mental health, substance abuse, or disability service provider, so any attack on them about the quality of those services is misguided. Alliance manages Medicaid and other funding sources for the aforementioned services, and has done so since 2012/2013. Second, the State of North Carolina has cut funding for services for the last 4 years in a row, which has made it more difficult for Alliance to function and for provider agencies to serve their clients because there haven't been any increases in their reimbursement rates during all of this time - a time of extremely low unemployment across all economic sectors, which has made this system less attractive to providers because the agencies can't be competitive. Third, Alliance recently closed their Durham and Raleigh offices and combined them with their main administrative office in Morrisville. Many of their employees work from home part of the time now, and the organization has adopted other strategies as a means to reduce operating costs. There is NO QUESTION that the system is broken, but it is not the fault of Alliance and their employees, who are among the hardest working and smartest people that I had ever had the pleasure of working with. It is due to the North Carolina General Assembly's continued funding cuts to the system as a whole, which has reduced it to a skeleton of what it once was. People should be THANKING Alliance employees for sticking around during these challenging times, rather than pointing misguided fingers at them. Ignorant at best, shameful at worst.
Other MCO/LME's don't seem to have as many issues but ever since we got changed to them we have had a bad run around. Don't live in the counties they serve move if you can and best of luck with the broken system.
Very poor customer service. Frustrating to work with. I called Alliance to get information for a client that needed additional low/no cost behavioral healthcare. I talked to 4 different individuals, who each told me that they did not know the answers to my questions. My questions were about income levels for IPRS funds, what IPRS would pay for and agencies that could provide services. These should be basic questions for them; the information should be common knowledge talked about in their hallways. It appeared to me that the staff were lazy and wanted to do as little work as possible. Passing me on to the next person that wanted to do less than the person before them. One person I talked to actually told me that I should do a web search to find the agencies that they work with. She said that the client should not call them for information. However, they have a access and information line specifically set up to help connect clients to behavioral health agencies. Really????? They should be shut down if they aren't going to do their jobs!
I was in a crisis and they didn't HELP ME OUT AT ALL. They sent me to Monarch, which is their best clinic they send everyone to. Don't go there! If you have a potential danger from a doctor and file a grievance, they will get nurses to evaluate the situation, and you know what the clinics or doctors will always be right. All the clinics they offer don't HELP and they all don't care! I was in a crisis and only one clinic took me in as an emergency. Only one and Alliance didn't recommend them, another clinic did! I will let you know all the clinics Alliance offers will not take you in until a month later, no matter what your situation is. They are awful and should be changed. NO LIES HERE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HELP ME, DURING MY CRISIS, AND WITH MY GRIEVANCES. CLINICS AND DOCTORS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT TO THEM. THEY DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE DISABLED.
Rubenna was incredible. She got me right in and taken care of with ease. Very friendly and great attitude. Should be employee of the month!!!
They are not good with following up about seeking assistance for mental health.
