Allison Jones grew up in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. She received her Bachelor's Degree of Social Work in 2001 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her law degree from the Birmingham School of Law in 2007. Prior to law school, she worked as a Foster Care Social Worker at the Jefferson County Department of Human Resources.
